    PM <ok>

I'm thinking the bar - safety in numbers, as has already been said. Let's see how it goes. Early days yet.

Yes seems logical. Make our decisions on here and then PM Biscan. No ****ing ideas yet, mind, other than I know that I'm completely clean.

As far as I can see there are no clues so anyone recommending any direction is immediately suspicious

The only people who have any information about directions are mafia who know the bad direction

Nice constructive comment there Penfold! <laugh>

"I think we should look at the wording...

Which leaves us with no clue about what to do!" <laugh>

EDIT: My bad, I did find this useful later on. Carry on Nursey!

Let's be clear about this mechanic. The mafia have a big advantage.

I strongly urge genuine townies not to speculate wildly about the directions. If you have a proper genuine theory then post it. Otherwise useless talk lets mafia try to influence the decision, in the exact same way as random voting at the start lets them quietly jump on a bandwagon.

So far I have read nothing of value and so encourage townies to choose at random to reduce as much as possible the potential for mafia influcence.

If townies don't openly discuss the directions then neither can the mafia and we have a 2/3 chance of nothing bad.

Also don't post your direction choices in the thread. If the mafia see a number are already going in the bad direction they can just STFU and hide.

I like your analysis of this Mito (both of your posts), it's broadened my thinking regarding my view of the options.

I only saw your first post after I posted my view on the locations as I was busy typing it up. My first impression is that you've mentioned something that could be useful that I missed:
I grouped the Park and Bar together but you've mentioned a clear difference between them as well. Even though they are both 'strength in numbers' choices the difference would be (as you pointed out) that the Bar is a bit of a shady place where some dodgy actions could occur, while the Park is out in the open so would be harder for guys to get away with dodgy actions.

Your second post about the key words used I found very interesting.
    1. "can't be frowned upon"
    2. "pretend your a child again."
    3. "do what you wish"

I agree that 1 seems neutral, 2 seems bad and 3 is unclear, or selfish as Penfold suggested.

The key for me regarding this is what the reward could be, and if the whole town goes to this location or just the townies.
My first thought was that if the whole town goes with the townies' choice then perhaps the reward could be that town roles get extra actions. However if it just applies to vanilla townies then they don't have other actions so it can't be that. The OP is not 100% clear but I would guess that it just applies to VT's.

So in summary I'm not sold on my earlier choice of the Bar now. Either one of the three could be correct and they all could be bad in certain scenarios.
Before I was convinced strength in numbers was the right logical reasoning and I did not trust the having fun in the park description, so the Bar was a fairly logical decision for me at the time.
But now it's a lot murkier. If I still go with strength in numbers then the openness of the park is a decent reason over the shady interior of the bar. The wording for the Bar also seems neutral, so that's two things against my initial choice. If I go the opposite direction then the flying solo could lead to the 'good' choice, but I'm still not that convinced.

I'm not changing my vote away from the bar yet, I want to see what other come up with. But for now I'm still leaning towards the strength in numbers theory so either the Bar or the Park.

I agree with this re direction all the time there are no clues. I do think we should come to a consensus on who to vote for to avoid the Mafia ganging up on one person and winning the vote easily.

I partly agree with you Astro.

I do agree that we should only discuss genuine theories and not just waffle for the sake of discussion. I also agree that not actually stating our choices could be a good move so that the mafia don't know where we are leaning... So essentially we discuss the theories and then let each townie decide which choice to make, but not post it on the thread.

However my major concern is that we are going to suffer from a chronic lack of information in this game. We are already going to have a lot less lynch voting information to analyse (25% of the final lynch vote in this game vs 100% of the final and intermediate lynch votes in normal games).
If we don't discuss the locations too much every day then what are we going to base our lynch votes on?
It's going to be very easy for Mafia to hide as they won't have to post much at all on the main thread. If they just post the odd comment to show that they're around but do nothing constructive they can skate through to the end of the game as players always do.

In the previous game you gave off a strong Town read due to your work solving the clues, that is critical in forming opinions on people and especially the case in this game with limited lynch voting info.

It's very easy for mafia to hide among townies who make no constructive posts but harder if they have to actually help town or look suspicious. I think it's much more likely that Mafia will just keep quiet than try to get us to pick the wrong option.
I assume (if it's the same as my mafia game) that we will find out which was the good and bad option every night, so if mafia tried to point us in the wrong direction they'll stand out and we can lynch them. It's much more likely they'll try to float along quietly and just hope we pick the neutral or bad option every day.

Read about "Mafia party game" on the net, this game has a few variations (hidden lynch vote, vanilla townie locations etc.) but it should give you a decent overview of how it works, and then ask us any questions on here if you have any.

You can PM IBWT if you need clarity on anything, just don't PM anyone else as it's against the rules.

If you're a Vanilla Townie then every day before 9pm you need to PM IBWT with your choice of a lynch vote (who do you think is Mafia or SK), and your choice of location out of the three choices.
If you're a character with a role with actions then you still vote for lynch by 9pm but you will also have another action, you will need to ask IBWT about your particular role.
Just try not to give any info away about your role... <ok>

One is safe, one bad and one neutral. If the majority of us choose the safe place, we get some kind of benefit - I think <laugh>

Interesting way to go. The choice must be made well though. Make our own minds up and go.
