Do you want Big Sam to stay and try to bring us back up ?
He is not really committing himself to next season if the worse happens so I'm unsure if he wants to stay or if he feels he belongs in the Premiership.
If he goes, who do we want ?
Personally I want him to stay and he will hopefully still be a premiership manager.

I think after yesterday its when and not if we go down. But I hope Sam stays, he is pretty much a perfect fit for us, proper manager and I would be confident we could bounce straight back with him in charge.

He'd definitely make the journey through the championship a bit less precarious, but saying that, its going to be the strongest its ever been next season, some very big fish splashing around down there.

Sam thinks he is good enough for Real so he'll probably want to stay in the premiership.

Did he not scrape through with West Ham last time round? I'd be less keen on him however he would be better than anyone we are likely to pick up to replace Rafa!

I'm not sure Rafa will leave you know, he loves living in England I believe so I'm sure he'll only leave you lot for a bigger job in The PL.

Who's gonna need a manager next season? United wouldn't consider him, neither would Everton for the same reason. You never know, although it depends if you can afford to keep him and satisfy his ambitions also.

Allardyce knows that league well, he'd know how to set up his squad and I think he'd probably make Sunderland favourites for the top spot, it just depends on Sunderland's owner and how he'd back him with money.

I think Newcastle need to go down, they need to clear their decks again and start with a core of young players to grow their future around, I'd have said the same for Sunderland last season, to get rid of their rotten apples but they've done that for the most part now it seems so I can't see them benefiting too much from a year or two in the 2nd tier.

If we go down. thinking ahead, if we manage to get straight back, will we
    a) be strong enough to be comfortable in the Prem
    b) have spirit and desire, say like Watford and Bournemouth
    c) be a traditional newly promoted struggler ( and thus here we go again)
I would hope that lessons would have been learnt to stop this continual struggle and losing mentality of the club

I'm can't see him staying and to be frank, any PL job would be bigger and better than anything our exalted chairman could ever deliver. No doubt we will get Neil Warnock in (I might not be dead set against him but it's quite a come down from Rafa!)

With respect to Sam. I reckon Sunderland are best placed to bounce straight back up. I just seem to remember him scraping through with a very strong West Ham side (I could be wrong) and that would concern me as a SAFC fan. Thankfully, I'm not <laugh>.

No Championship club with aspirations will want Sunderland down, that would make things very difficult.

Should Paul bracewell given the chance ? he is regually on the touchline with Sam. With Watmore, Pickford and other young players coming through it would give them a chance, and at least we will games more often next season.

I'd be perfectly happy for him to stay. I think we've been through enough managers already recently and I think he'd have a good chance of bringing us straight back up. However, if he doesn't choose to stay, I wouldn't see that as a major disaster either.

Looking more like the drop by the week. We simply can't put the ball in the net. I reckon Sam would sort that given a whole summer, whether it's in the Prem or the Championship. If we do drop, the fixture list wouldn't look to shabby with (depending on promotion/relegation) games against Wolves, Villa, the Mags, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds & Forest.

What's your strike force gonna look like next season if/when you go down?

I reckon you'll need a whole new one which would probably be your biggest test for next season, getting them in early. I really can't see Defoe staying when he's got goals left in him at this level.

One bad injury as far as my memory serves, but I am ever the optimist, The kid has something that championship defences will find hard to deal with. When we signed Kirchof he was known as a sick note type of player, things change Tel.
