Apparently after Pieters got stick from his own bench and then was hauled off, Klopp gave him a "Kloppie hug" after the game and had a few words with him. Real manager! please log in to view this image
Decent performance and just the result needed for Thursday, will be a cracking night! Sturridge with a partner is a different animal, was so much better second half getting involved in the build up, looking for one-twos etc. you can visibly see that he is enjoying it rather than sulking around and getting frustrated when he's on his own. Really hope they both play against Dortmund. I think Origi could have a really bright future. He has pace, skill and strength so if he can improve composure in the next season or 2 he could be a steal for £10m
Not been a bad week has it? Was not expecting this result although oddly I was expecting us to do well against Dortmund! Our run in to the end of the reason isn't too bad. Fingers crossed.
Nice that Sturridge has some proper competition / a decent playing partner now. Always said that Sturridge is better when he has a partner as showed when he played with Suarez. He's not as effective long term on his own as he can't occupy a whole defence and does become isolated. 4-1, can't complain about that. Sets us up nicely for Thursday and gives Kloppo some headaches about team selection up top. Hopefully they can push each other knowing a couple of bad performances and the other will be itching to go.
About an hour before the game Klopp looked like hehad a really bad head or something Anyone else seen the gif? Posted 5 hrs ago on the below account https://twitter.com/LiverpoolGifs
Cracking strike from Moreno for 1, nice Ojo cross and movement from Sturridge for 2, free header, rubbish defending for Origi for 3 (still had to be good and he generated good power), brilliant shot from Origi for 4 Deffo did not expect 4 goals today, was thinking more like a dour 1-0 or Stoke being resilient, us working hard for a ****e 1-1 all or something, so this was a good surprise League's done for us though ... we're firmly mid-table and that position absolutely reflects the uneven, inconsistent season we've had. Want us to focus on this EL now and go all out to win the trophy, let's be honest it doesn't matter whether we finish 7th or 10th, other than the moolah of course, 5th is still doable but I'd prefer us to win the cup
Still should be trying to win in the league. Wouldn't want to be going into Europa games in bad form, plus if we don't win EL it's important to finish in Europa places for next year.
If we win our game in hand we're 2 points off Man Utd, who are ****e The game in hand is Everton right before their cup game 5th should be par from this position
Don't mind us resting a few like we did today before a Europa game, but don't think should be throwing 4/5 kids into the 1st team and them getting battered 4-0.
It was a sensible strategy today, couple of kids, fairly strong everywhere else Goes without saying we should be looking to keep up the habit of winning in the league and europe If we can beat Dortmund in the EL it should be ours to lose
