I hear nothing but good about the mercenaries new signing. Wondered if any Spurs fans with more knowledge of Spanish football than me would be able to enlighten me on how much a threat to our chances of top 4 he is? Is he an improvement on Tevez?
Difficult to say how he'll adapt to The Premiership. He has (had) a great partnership with Forlan at Atletico, and that's one of the main reasons he's been fairly prolific, scoring 20 goals in 32 games last season. He's obviously a very good player, but how he will adapt to exchanging Madrid for Manchester, only time will tell. By the way, I always thought that Martin Keown was "The Missing Link" if you see what I mean
£38m and £200k pw. That's what we're up against. Not sure what you're laughing about ****furball, you're being pushed down the pecking order by them, too.
Another Dzeko perhaps?...who knows!...and what a 27m bargain he was, even had idiots on beeb606 for months raving about him saying he was this n that, and WE should sign him. Let em spend stupid amounts!
I think that Dzeko has been judged a little too early, to be honest. He's had half a season to settle into English football now and he'll have a full pre-season under his belt. If he still doesn't perform then fair enough, but I wouldn't call him a flop just yet.
Totally agree - it's very hard to be sure enough of quality to justify these prices. If there are five genuine 'world-class' attackers around (and there can hardly be more or they wouldn't get into the world 23 man squad), there are bound to be ten times that number in the next level down and judging which ones will actually make the grade is nearly impossible. City can buy six and hope that one or two come through but even that is not guaranteed. Real-world clubs like us just have to buy younger and keep our fingers crossed that a few Bale's come along.
In my opinion if they keep Tevez, with this signing they could win the league this season. Tevez, Aguero, Balotelli (muppet but a good player) and Dzeko is a tasty strike force.
To be fair, we have never been in the running for £200k pw players. Then again, we haven't needed them in order to remain in the top 4 either
Yes because Arsenal only sign free transfers and pay no more than £30,000 a week don't they . You finish in the top 4 because you have one of the top 4 highest wage bills. It's no coincidence that the teams that pay more than you finish above you and the teams that pay less finish below you.
Ok so you maybe have the 5th highest wage bill but finished 4th. Spurs have the 6th(could even be 7th) highest wage bill but finished 5th. Yet Arsenal are seen as being ultra cost effective and over achieiving etc. SSN8 - Do you think Aguero will play as a false no9 for City?
Aguero is always looking to go beyond the CB's,so no. His link up play is nowhere near as good as Tevez but he is a deadly finisher. I think he will do what Torres first did when he came to England, expect a 30 goal season. Sadly as predicted City are now starting to buy the top notch players.
You should stop slapping yourself on the head so often, it clearly causes you problems... Which of our players do you believe is on £200k a week or are you just babbling Spuddish?
I never said that you pay £200,000 a week but you are carrying on like you don't pay big wages when in fact you do and that's what set you apart from the rest of the Premier League except the clubs that finish above you. My point was - the higher a team's wage bill is, the higher they finish in the PL.
