True about teams making their own luck and the title winners need to have things go their way. But the top teams make their own luck by usually having a big squad, Leicester have been able to rely (pretty much) on the same 11 week in week out, due to no injuries and no European football. Saw a stat the other day (not 100% on how accurate it is) that they've played 25% less games than Arsenal this year, which obviously helps.

The reality is that there is a levelling-up happening with a combination of FFP and TV money. Next season there will be maybe 10 clubs who could win the title, and the most consistent will do it. That may well be one of the old top 4 but there is a greater chance now that it won't be.

What has changed is the money available (as Chilco said). Last time we were in the EPL, teams like us couldn't attract really good players, especially from abroad. As the usual top 4-6 clubs can't sign everyone, other good players will eagerly sign for any EPL club. And is a £20 mill player twice as good as a £10 mill player? Good management, team spirit and organisation will all have a greater effect now than it did in the past, when a top side would just throw another international player on to the pitch and we only had a player of Championship quality on the bench. You only have to look at how empty our training ground is during an international break to realise that.

Is Martin Allen drunk on Sky Sports? He said Stoke were winning 1-0 then went on to describe how Liverpool scored. He was slurring a little then went on to say Mourinho had scored.

    Liverpool 1-0

Got to think that some incoming managers with actual tactical quality will help.

I agree. I think those saying Leicester are a sign of hope for the rest of us are jumping the gun. If any other unfancied teams do it, then I guess this is the start of a sea change. However, the truth is that Leicester have won in the worst season on record for the big clubs. I suspect the old order will reassert itself and we'll be gutted it as the foxes and not us.
