Does anybody know of any other football club that runs a Boots points card type system meaning that fans can accumulate points as they put cash into the club ?

Then maybe get something back from the club when they get a certain amount of points. (don't laugh)

The reason I am thinking about this is because I recently emailed the club asking them why they charge people to watch interviews & hightlights (NUFC TV). I suggested that this should be a free service, especially for those that buy season tickets, all three shirts and various other bits of crap from the club shop.

I was thinking that this would be easily managed if you had a 'points' card that you get swiped on each purchase, so the club can keep track of what fans are spending. And in a perfect world reward them occasionally for their support. (give them free NUFC TV for example)

    Just a thought

By the way this was the response from NUFC:

Although we are a football team primarily we are also a business organisation for which still has to generate money from different sectors.

Sorry, you did say "don't laugh". Most big football clubs are solely businesses, and don't give a flying **** about the fans. Even seemingly magnanimous gestures - like clubs offering free/cheap tickets for kids - are calculated moves to maximise future revenue.

To be fair, you make some valid points and in a perfect world, this would be a great idea. But unfortunately, its Mike Ashley's world. We are stupid for giving him money in the first place but we can't help but do so.

Access to NUFC TV is not a big insentive for people to buy more season tickets or merchandise. People who don't usually buy season tickets won't be swayed by the ability to watch some extra interviews via a points scheme.
It's be a nice way to treat the loyal fans who already own season tickets but few businesses are that generous to their customers, at least not successful ones.
