I think Long has been our best player this season. I will be voting for him, we look so more dangerous when he plays.
I agree, although ironically our second goal yesterday was a direct result of Shane's poor first touch. It set it up beautifully for Pellè to thump in in the corner! And the first goal was set up by a strange fumble between Pellè and Long as well. If only they could do things like that deliberately!
That exchange with Pelle that lead to Shane's goal may have looked clumsy, but Pelle has done that before....he holds the ball, then releases for a team mate. Mane got a goal in a similar fashion. May not have looked pretty, but the intention was there.
Yes, Ron said that his touch has improved since he came to Saints....hence his wonderful assist for Pelle (even Pelle smiled when he mentioned it in his interview). Good that players improve when they play here...but it can turn into a cold unforgiving world when they leave (added that just in case some players read this ).
It was really the touch by Shane after the exchange with Pellè I meant. Took him straight past the first defender, but I'm not sure that's what he meant to do. The sidestep around Taylor and the finish were both intentional though, and beautifully done.
Always hard to choose....the natural inclination is to go to the goal scorers as that is the whole point of the game, but our defence has been good as well. Long is a real game changer, whilst Virgil has been fantastic.
And Newcastle responding to a chorus of "you're going down" with "we're going down, we're going down".
Actually started by them singing, "We've had one shot..." I believe. We heard them sing that first and then the Northampton join in.
Long has plenty of limitations but they don't matter because he has pace to burn, never stops running, and has more heart than a herd of rhinos. He's our Duracell bunny and his little legs never slow down for a second.
I noticed that when we took one of our many corners, other Saints players were taking a breather, but Long looked as fresh as ever.
How dare you?! Wouldn't mind her money but not her personality/attitude (seemingly, from what some people who know her say...)
Oops! Sorry I wouldn't know anything about her attitude/personality - I was just going on looks (as were). Grovelling apology if I've caused offence ........
You're forgiven but if there's ever a not606 meet-up that we both make I expect not just drinks but snacks as well. That comment is going to cost you
