I've been sceptical but, must admit I was pleasantly surprised by how FG set us up today and how well we played. The best performance of the season - certainly in the first half.
Well we have been pressing our luck , we better start earning our points cause luck doesn't last . Really do hope we see some great stuff from here , if we are showing good signs till seasons end more players will want to stay . Guido has been with us for 11 games now and some of the stuff we seen today should be expected now and answered for . Huw will be keeping a closed eye on him now.
We are an ungrateful lot. Second in form table from a position of being relegation fodder - not bad? Yes Curtis kept the momentum and has had a massive role, between them, they have been awesome! We have a very interesting few weeks coming up, let's see he we perform on the field!
They are, they want thier cake and eat it. Win and with style. Then we beat Chelsea for the first time and some still moan.
Credit where it's due, the Swans were excellent yesterday & for long periods, superb!! Guido should get praise for that, because he knew what we all knew & wanted, that we had to attack this Chelsea, and attack we did, led by the amazing Montero!! God he loves playing them... Must admit, the 'diamond' has really pissed me off when we've needed 4-2-3-1, ala Stoke, but he did change it & possibly, if done earlier, could've won there. So the guy has shown what he can do, in 'flits', let's hope now at the magical '40', we can see more of it, starting with Jonjo & his 'BIG club' next week!!! If we see more of yesterday's style, I'll be more than happy for the board to keep him & Curt, hopefully, on... One thing I would like to see him sort though, is our ridiculous 'set-piece' record, 2 many loose goals, have so changed our fortunes in games over the years. Let's do a Leicester 16/17!!!...
We are not allowed to have opinions then, surely we are able to state what we see at a game or is it only blind adoration we are supposed to show. Everyone on here has said how well we played yesterday, but there were still issues in some peoples eyes and as I thought this was a forum, stupidly I thought they would be able to discuss them.
Mostly agree Phill but I'd like to see what Guido can do for the rest of the season before I decide whether he's right for us. Reason I say that is because of the predicament we've been in since his arrival he has had to play a points first style of football so we haven't seen what he can do imo. Also I feel that our safety is in large part due to the courage of most of our players, Curtis and our backroom staff. Now we're safe Guido has a small window to throw caution to the wind and show us what he can do without the fear of relegation. So far so good but I want to see him just manage from no on in.
Of course you're allowed to criticise thats the whole point of this forum. but, a lot here don't like opposing views and get sarcastic. I just think that you wanted your cake and eat it, survival by any means necessary was the plan and that has been done. Now we're more than likely safe, I feel we will see what Guido is capable of. May I add, on a prediction thread anyone who predicted over 40 points was mocked by a few on here.
They are allowed to mock, it just comes back on them when the thread gets bumped. No one can deny the football has been dire and we are not used to that. The points were the important thing I agree, but it shouldn't stop us voicing opinions about our style of play and I am one who thought it was the most boring pile of sh1te I had ever seen and s a fan I have the right to say so. Yesterday was so much better and we played for a long time like the old Swansea, but again I and others get frustrated when we then change back to the boring negativity and rightly or wrongly each of us has a right to say so.
Ye, at the same time I'm allowed to voice when I think you're expecting too much, too soon and are being over analytical! Also the football started to go down hill post Laudrup. I haven't seen a performance from us under Guido like the ones against Leicester (home), Southampton (away), Sunderland (home) and Oxford United I know this is hypothetically speaking but based on our current form, if he was in charge at the start of the season we could be on 65 points. note (keep that hypothetical part in mind when replying)
Oh so now it's the 'I told you so' bollocks. Give it a rest. Show where posters were mocked please. At one time it was unlikely we'd reach 40 and anyone looking at our predicament would have had doubts. You'd have been mad not to. That doesn't mean I'm not delighted that we have. Vetch was right, you know. As soon as people who are naturally cautious refuse to be swept away by the euphoria that we've all seen before at this Club they get the old "what a bunch of moaners" routine. We're even getting the "if he'd been in charge at the start of the season" crap. I've set out why I'm still concerned about Guidolin and no amount of provoking or bitching about 'moaning' will change that opinion. Hope that's clear.
But no one on here said you weren't you were the one moaning at every one for criticising. As you said here 'They are, they want thier cake and eat it. Win and with style. Then we beat Chelsea for the first time and some still moan.' All enyone did was respond to your original post. You are free to say what you want and so you should, but don't have a go at people with opposite views just put your own.
