Whenever Arsenal lose, by the morning after the match thread is usually around 15 pages long.. just saying..
Let's get this straight, plenty of us have said that Wenger should go, and we've been consistent with it for the past 2-3 years. But some of us don't want to harp on about it every second of every thread. Beating Everton is good, but this doesn't change the fact that our season went off a cliff in the second half of the season. As a team, we haven't asserted ourselves enough and to claim top spot. I still believe the players are good enough to achieve that, but in order for them to do that, another manager needs to come in. As much as i like Wenger, he lacks motivational skills to get the players to perform better when the chips are down, or the pressure hits. Instilling that belief and fight is something he doesn't do well for a top manager. This was needed the most when our performances went south in January. We simply do not have the same type of players in the past, who were strong mentally to weather the storm. These guys need additional support.
Yeah, let's get this straight. Wenger's future depends on two people only - Silent Stan and Wenger himself. Arsenal is a good, reliable, profitable business. Kroenke likes it and for this reason he likes Wenger. Kroenke would be mad to get rid of the manager who brings him money and guarantees stability. I do not think Kroenke is mad. And for this reason Wenger will stay. Or, the way you put it, Wenger has a future at Arsenal. And your opinions do not matter. The only thing you can do to force Arsene out is stop attending matches en masse. But most of you will never do it, because you know that your place will be taken by some other bloke. And most of you do not go to The Emirates every week anyway. So if you can not realistically get rid of Wenger, your moaning and protests are counterproductive, because it does not help your cause in the slightest, but creates negative atmosphere around the team. So, if you know you can get what you wish, then act. If not, stop moaning and get behind the players. Just help them to finish the season strongly and finish as high as they possibly can now.
On the face of it a very persuasive argument. But if I were you lot, I'd boo and moan at every opportunity. Honest.
Perhaps this thread should be retitled "Does Jack Wilshere have a future with the club?" If he had any intelligence he would pop over to Barcelona or Granada for a night out where the British press might not set out to photograph him.
Wenger's assessment is still spot on, it is just his English that lets him down: "I have had many teams in my life and this team is top quality. They have gone through a bad period but when they play like that, it shows that, mentally, they are pure.” Surely he means "puree" not "pure". They are mentally puree. You just can not say it better.
Mentally pure. LOL The thing is in terms of 'major' trophies...(not our own FA Cup Wins) Ozil - La Liga Winner, Champions League Winner, European Championship Winner, World Cup Winner. Mertesacker - European Championship Winner, World Cup Winner. Petr Čech - Premierleague Winner (x4), FA Cup Winner(x3), Champions League Winner. Sanchez - La Liga Winner, Copa Del Ray Winner, Argentina Premeria League Winner, Copa America etc.. Santi Carzorla - European Championship Winner(x2). Wellbeck - Premierleague Winner. Rosicky - Bundesliga Winner Flamini - Serie A Winner. Giroud - Ligue 1 Winner. There's plenty of guys who have won major honours in this squad. I do feel we lack of few leaders but the main reason for that is our manager is the one who is 'mentally weak'. I've always said Wenger needs more leaders in his teams than most managers because he isn't a natural leader himself.
Pretty spot on. It's a lack of leadership from the dugout and on the pitch that is causing the problems. The Invincibles had a few proper leaders on the pitch, whereas you're struggling to find one natural leader in our current team. He just doesn't get it.
