On the bus. Superb curler right in top corner. Unsavable. Not sure who assisted but Smithies' earlier save critical for which he earns MOTM for me. You Rssss!
With 10 games under his belt - after the initial close fought two losses, six wins and two draws is a record to be proud of.
Thats 90 minutes of my life i wont get back, absolute garbage, no passing & little idea, we are a million miles from having a side to challenge the best this division offers, its going to be a bleak few years at Loftus Road
Heading home from the game and thought I would give my take at rating the players. Smithies - 7. Thought he had a great game don't make any mistakes make several vital saves at 0-0 and at 1-1 to keep us in it. Onouha - 6. Thought the captain played okay at centre back until there version of polter came on and he moved to right back and constantly was out of position being to central. Hall - 7. Thought he had a good game made some good tackles towards the end of the game and helped out epekpwa when he came on. Robinson - 7. Was glad to see him start today and thought he played really well great range of passing and never backed down from a challange. Hoilett - 7. Played well enough causing problems down the right hand side. Is getting better at decision making each game. Henry - 7. Usual job from Henry marked tackled and passed from the centre can't fault him tbh. Phillips - 5.Just poor today too lazy to help track back couldn't be arsed to run with the ball plus his crossing wasn't up to scratch. Loungo 6. Again can't fault the guy inter linked with cherry very well and always tried to look forward with his passes. Cherry 7. Played well today linking well with the attacking trio. However get the feeling he is starting to tire out in matches towards the end. Polter 7. Made a nusience of himself held the ball up and tried setting up others from the edge of 18 yard box. Saying that he needs to man up with heading if he's put lone forward. SUB. Ekepowa 6. Came on for perch and liked what I saw from our youth product. Kept composed however against the giant aerial battles were a problem. Gladwin. Wondered why we bought him back from loan and thought he played well however you can see he's not a proper winger hugged the middle too much. Khayati - 7. Love seeing him play and even though I missed his goal what I saw was someone trying to express himself and nearly set up a goal before I left. All round a steady performance apart from lapses of concentration at the back towards the end however we look more dangerous on the attack. One big problem I have found Is our midfield is nonexistent and teams counter through here too much for my liking. My MOM is smithies for the reasons I gave above.
I must have watched a different game from Fisky, appart from Smithies Robinson & Hoilet the rest didnt warrent more that a 4/5.
Aha you must forgive me I don't do this often. I admit it was a poor game and we got lucky a lot in the second half with their counter attacks. I suppose I'm just trying to be optimistic for the future
After a fairly bright start for us, it descended into a pretty poor game. We deserved to be ahead at half-time, but Charlton threatened much more in the seconf half, and it wasn't a shock when they equalised (Henry lost his man, I thought). A fine save from Smithies when one-on-one and then an excellent winner from Nasser cutting in from the left. Robinson looks solid and has very long throw, which could prove useful. Hoillet did well too, but I thought Luongo was our MOM. Edit: Nearly forgot - I never felt more like singing the blues............
Typical performance from a team only playing for pride but what a match winner! Worth going just to see that goal. Shame so many had left before the end and missed it. You can see the video of the goals by clicking on the link ... http://www.skysports.com/football/qpr-vs-charlton/report/340020
WELL I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO THINK ITS JUST LIKE WE THREW EVERYTHING AT THEM INCLUDING THE KITCHEN SINK BUT ONLY AL KACKACHUTE HIT THE NET HE SCORED A GOAL ILL NEVER FORGET VERY CRUEL OF YOU GUYS TO WIND ME UP ABOUT OL BLOOD AND THUNDER BUT MAYBE IT HELPED TO GIVE THIS GAME A NICE BIT OF PLUNDER ONCE MORE PHILLIPS PLAYED A PLEASE LET ME LEAVE PERFORMANCE HOPEFULLY HE CAN GO IN THE SUMMERS SUN 4 MILLION POUND COULD BE RE INVESTED AND TODAY YOU KNOW WHAT OUR NEXT SEASON HAS JUST BEGUN
Although we have challenged the best this division has several times this season. We might not be great but this division is bang average.
Can't agree with much of that I'm afraid. Can't agree with much of that tbh. I thought we looked like we were thinking about the beach and Charlton were poor. We started ok in a very average first half. Phillips had a good first 15 minutes and then reverted to type. The first goal was the result of a good cross from Phillips which was just out of hoilett's reach and crept inside the far post. 2nd half we went from poor to terrible and Charlton should have scored 3 or 4. Their equaliser was the least they deserved. Rangers were lethargic and moved the ball far too slowly. We missed Faurlin's passing badly. I thought Luongo was poor and Hall reminds me more of Caulker every time I watch him. I thought Kpekawa really struggled at CB but then he is a left back. Ned was better whilst at CB and made some good tackles and interceptions. I really like Robinson and he has a ridiculously long throw in too. Hoilett did pretty well and Chery went close but was pretty quiet. The long punt up to Polter is not a thing of beauty! Smithies was again very good and along with Charlton's terrible finishing he kept the scores level. The game was crying out for Faurlin's passing and Washington's endevour. Neither left the bench whilst the disappointing Polter and Luongo stayed on. Phillips missed a sitter with a ridiculous tame effort when one on one with the keeper. It looked for all the world that it was going to finish yet another bore draw until El Khayati came on and scored an absolute worldy, curling into the top corner after cutting in from the left. All in all the game summed up your luck when you're down the bottom like Charlton. Should have won by 3 or 4 and lose to a 94th minute worldy.
Glad you were there to witness that goal - that sort of a finale makes such a difference, even if the match was a bit ho hum. As per usual Sky content (or BBC) not authorized on this side of the pond - you would think in this day and age of the internet........ (now there is a trick to temporarily change your proxy server settings to fool them by using a UK IP address, but I can't be bothered).
Lovely goal. Reminded me of Adel. Agree - we need to invest in two young full backs and at least one more centre half. We lost our shape completely from 60 minutes and but for very poor finishing and Smithies fine goalkeeping we'd have been punished. More than anything else - we desperately lack an on-field captain. That must be Jimmy's key acquisition in the summer.
