Fun Andros Townsend fact: he has a bit of a reputation as a goalscoring winger, because he cuts in and shoots with such frequency. For his career, he's scoring a goal every 600 minutes in the league...Tadic, who can seem frustratingly goal-shy at times, scores about 40% more often.

And I wonder what his percentage of goals to shots taken is. It's a no from me.

Whoscored has him at 155 shots taken from 2012-13 on. That means it takes him, on average, 19.4 shots to score a goal.

In his time with Saints, Steven Davis has taken exactly 100 shots, scoring 6 goals, good for one every 16.7 shots.

    Steven Davis: the superior finisher.

Newcastle genuinely made me laugh out loud this afternoon.
Personal highlight was Perez dribbling the ball out of play unchallenged as he seemed to forget that a football pitch has a touch line.

The build up for our second goal was a shambles from both teams. Everytime we made an error, Newcastle somehow managed to outdo us.

Ron got the tactics spot on today and that was to press them high and have a man on Shelvey.
Should have scored more and thought it was unfair of Rafa to take off Steven Taylor and replace him with a competent defender

    Good performance from Saints.
The first half was probably the easiest 45 minutes of the season and it would have been so easy to switch off, at the start of the second half and let Newcastle back into the game.
Pretty much a training exercise more than a Premier League game.

Easy win. Pleased with today although winning ten nil would have been fun and that was there for us today.

The whole team were bored. Some just stood and watched Townsend with the ball, then he scored.

Meeting not606 lot was definitely my highlight of the day....

Lovely to meet Beddytare for the first time and great to see the prediction league legend that is RAWMOK. I forgot to thank him for his efforts doing the predictions. Let me know in advance next time and I'll buy you a very large beer!

    Great stuff gang.

We must nearly have enough for a clique :)

Just need to get Fran to a meet next.

What a bunch of reprobates! From right to left seated we have: Beddytare, Tom, Dave, Onionman Jr, Onionman, guest Magpie, Chilcs' Magpie daughter, Chilcs. Stood up at back: Saintritchie, and in front Chilcs' daughter's Magpie boyfriend.
Behind the lens Fats, and out of shot RAWMOK.

    Good turnout!

Do Newcastle and Villa still need to play each other?

I have a kind of sick curiosity to want to see that game

Gutted i had to go where my lift took me :(

Still i (we) got a win... suppose the next thread is on me again, though I can't boast a clean sheet.

Feel underwhelmed by the victory today - though I suppose I was so positive, that anything less than a 6-0 win was a disappointment :)

Oh and I thought Pelle played well today. He looks so much better when he keeps it simple and when he gets himself in front of a CB and doesn't let him just step around him to play the ball. More of the same please Graziano.
