We're not very good and yet you still could not beat us and we still put 3 past you on your own ground, lol. Why are you talking about Spurs? LOL, so you have to brag about another team finishing above us? But what about your time? Oh right, finishing below Arsenal, per usual. West Ham finishing below Arsenal is like the sun rising everyday. ;-). Know your place peon.
Don't read very well do you, I said IF we win this weekend (making it 3 points on level games). I have also said I think we will lose tomorrow.
ANYWAYS, as for the game. There is a good blue print there, Elneny is a solid addition, and Iwobi continues to progress. Although I don't have a problem with Ospina starting, think a proper and fit Cech would have probably given us more assurance in the back, add that with a new world class CB in the place of Gabriel, who was a complete disaster, and then I think we have the makings of a very good solid defensive shape. Our forward play was very good today, can't ask for much more when you score 3 away from home and at a ground like West Ham. But if we can add a true world class Forward, then there is a very good side in there. Wenger has one more season, he intends to say, so hopefully in his last year he can finally complete the jigsaw puzzle because he is so damn close, just fork out the money this summer, go out and spend 35+ million on a proper world class forward, and 20+ million on a world class CB.
Just got home from work to hear Andy Carroll say they were working all week on crosses into the box because of the amount of goals we concede from them, surprise surprise.I wonder what we were working on all week.Another tactical master class from Wenger judging by some of the post's on here.
What makes you think he won't extend his contract after next season? Rumours are that he's been offered a three-year extension after 2017. If we get 4th + we win a domestic cup, I guarantee he will stay on after 2017. Heck, if we have another season like this one, he could still stay beyond next season. Either way I'm starting to believe that unless he dies or unless he finishes out the top 4, only then he will go.
Well I suppose at least you can say it's fairly obvious what went well and what went wrong today. Our attack seems to be working, with Ozil, Iwobi and Sanchez working well together, and Elneny making good runs behind them. Just our defence was shocking - just attrocious (and I'm not including Ospina in that, although he wasn't particularly commanding on occassion). But blowing a blade of grass at our centre backs was enough to create panic!!! And the less said about our ability to defend set pieces the better...
Wenger decides when Wenger is going to go. Looking at our remaining fixtures, we will secure top 4 place. We have 4 home games left which will get us over the line.
We need a little more than a CB to be able to challenge for the title. This season clearly showed it.
It's funny though coz at one point the Merts/Kos centre back pairing was statistically the best in the league. And for the 1st few months when Bould came in he looked to have made a big difference defensively. But after that he doesn't look to have made the slightest difference...
With all due respect, would they be rushing to go to Arsenal? Very few players fit the description you mention.
Yes, they would, we give them European football, good wages, world class stadium, and a manager many still would like to play for. We are still a top prospect at the moment.
Yes it should be but we still need a world class manager in to piece it all together. Next season will go the same way unless Wenger learns from his mistakes, which is unlikely. Don't want to put a dampener on things, but Wenger is no longer an elite manager and next season he will be up against the very best - Pep, Klopp, Maureen and Conte. No where for him to hide anymore.
I think Pep will have his work cut out for him at City, I don't see him coming in and dominating as everyone expects, the same for Conte. As for Mo, it's still not a certainty that he will join United, and then he too will have his work cut out for him when he joins United, Mo and United are far from a match made in heaven, United fans already bitching about the 2-post SAF coaches for not following United's Philosophy, well Mo doesnt either, and that could eventually cause trouble just like it did at Madrid. Klopp will be one to watch out for since he will already have had a good 8 months or so of English football under his belt.
