Here we come again, Manchester United wants to buy Lukaku, Everton wants to sell not below £M65, Who can blame Everton? United have the money !. Manchester United Transfer News: Huge Romelu Lukaku Fee Amid Latest Rumours please log in to view this image
Why buy Lukaku for £65m when you could have wined and dined Kenwright to get all of Everton for £175m
It's mad money now. It bears no relation to performance or winning now. If you add up prizes you could never justify such fees It's all about tv money and you can have it from being just flash and a draw
I think with any player under 25 you're not only buying what the player is worth now, you are also buying how much the player can potentially be worth. 15+ years ago that wasn't the case and teams bought youngsters as to the value they we worth (unless they we an exceptional talent) and that's what's changed the most. Its also the case as to why there are plenty of bargains for players 28, 29 etc, because there is only a short term future for the player and the selling club has little option but to accept the price if they want to make any money.
It's been mad for decades. It just gets worse and will continue to do so because there's seemingly nothing to stop it. If it's all about TV money, why isn't that money used to keep ticket prices reasonable? It's all about greed, doesn't matter where the dosh comes from.
If people stopped paying for sky/virgin/PPV etc and streamed everything instead it would soon change.
Well, if no-one was paying for it to be televised then it wouldn't be televised. Things have to be paid for- it's the amount that is paid that is questionable.
They would start by reducing prices, if it is free to air or cheap enough then there will always be a market for it.
I think it's now unsustainable. The money sky and bt jointly charge for what is a glossy inferior product to that sold over seas is obscene. (I've seen it in usa) I strong think it's all a take take take industry with players, agents and complete Schuster in fifa and uefa. It's milking us. Ergo. Stream away. Nobodys going to continue paying for the services sky provide on either sport, movies or their resale of us shows..... sky are trying to absolutely rape on every charge they've dreamed up and it's inevitably going to implode.
Sky always come with a package to tie their customers down ,I. e get sky broadband at half price and watch BT Sport free authomatically another two years contract .Monopoly commission may have to come in if they want to swallow BT.
Manchester United, Chelsea and other top clubs will have to pay a £65million transfer fee for Romelu Lukaku. Everton are growing increasingly fearful of losing their star player to the Red Devils this summer, but are committed to ensuring a huge fee if he does leave. Chelsea have also been linked with the in-form Belgian striker, who has 18 Premier League goals this season and 25 in all competitions. However, all interested clubs will now have to pay a British record transfer fee if they are to persuade the Toffees to let him go this summer. http://metro.co.uk/2016/04/08/manch...llion-to-seal-romelu-lukaku-transfer-5803312/
Moshiri didn't rip off anyone. He was sold his initial stake on the proviso that he invests in the club, and when he's satisfied that requirement there's an agreement in place to sell him a further 25% I.e the remainder of the major shareholders current stake. It was a canny deal by Kenwright and Co., as they've ensured that the club has been placed with someone who is going to sort out the stadium issue and invest in the squad. #fail
Its possible you are right, yet fans from many clubs have heard the same guff until they eventually realise nothing will change. You only have to look at the promises made by hicks and gillette.
Hicks and Gilette put £7m a piece in and lumped the purchase price onto the club as debt. Moores sold to them without any such assurances, and they took you into administration by proxy.
It was a canny deal because Kenwright minimises the tax he pays by selling off his shares at an undervalued price with the proviso his remaining shared are inflated in price
