I say this every year and then end up having bets on half the field :emoticon-0102-bigsm
Only going for 4 this year though - Holywell, The Last Samurai (already backed ante post), Silviniano Conti and my long shot Double Ross.
I think it is time that a really top class horse won it.

the reason I am posting though is that I have just had a look at the card for tomorrow. What a ****ing joke!!!

There is a 1/4 favourite, a 1/7 favourite and a 1/4 favourite in the main 3 supporting races.
Tomorrow is supposed to be the shop window for racing, no one is going to get excited for that.

I'm also not impressed at the time of the National itself. Like the FA Cup final and rugby internationals everything now has to start after 5pm.
What happened to good old sporting afternoons??

The one I'm leaning towards is the Bailey horse, the Last Samuari. He can win without my money on! Would have loved to see Yanworth face Yorkhill again to put an end to the unlucky nonsense (outclassed) but not to be.

I think Band Of Blood in the 4.20 is a intresting runner ran well behind Last Samuri last time out and he hasn't had many racing for The good DR who usually does well with his newish recruits had good form over in a Ireland and won't mind the ground whatever it throws up to him and looks potentially well treated of hi s current mark

Him or King Conti I will not mind! Backed him at 33's straight after his place at Cheltenha!

Poor ol Ruby. Isn't this the 3rd Aintree Saturday he's missed in recent years through injury? Definitely looks from the betting that the Pipes have taken the handbrake off Dell Arca tomorrow. I know he's been called all sorts of names on here in the past but I reckon At Fishers Cross is worth an ew poke @ 25s in the opener at Aintree tomorrow. Dropped into handicap company for the first time in years he's racing off 143 with the jockeys claim factored in. I can't say I know that much about this Jonathon Moore chap but he's won a few weekend handicaps over in Ireland when carrying my cash so I'll trust him to get the job done. In the National I'll take The Romford Pele @ 50s and Ballycasey @ 80s. Good luck everyone and let's hope the horses are all back in their barns safe and sound tomorrow evening.

I always recommend picking your national winner one way. Drop you cock on the lineup and if it's anything like mine you end up with one low in the handicap!
Stick ends up with backing a horse called 'forecast prices' every year but other than that should work.

Mydor in the first for gangsta Martin.Being backed by the folk in Meath I'm told.Very competative handicapp where If in Doubt is a big danger after a luckless run at HQ last month.Skybet are money back if your selection finished 2nd/3rd so I've taken 12s on the Martin beast

I know that is a small problem <laugh> but his last run at Cheltenham had every bit of luck against him but seemed to run on pretty well, this a weaker race them he has been contesting !

Nina Carberry steps in on Sir Des Champs for Ruby.

For all she knows she may have lucked into history. He's a tough ride is old Sir Des- hopefully she speaks with Davy Russell about what a lazy runner he is and how to get the best from him.

I know Douvans a monster but it will be fun to watch Alisier D'irlande go a bit mad from the front tomorrow with his bold style- he's a nice prospect and might give Douvan the chance to stretch his legs off a good pace.
