I was just saying that you don't need either of those to get a foot on the ladder.

If your take home pay after tax is 2k a month then you should be able to save for a deposit.

There's plenty of flats worth less than 250k in London despite the rising prices, I'm a 15 minute train from London Bridge (zone 3) and there's properties at 160-200k round here, go slightly further out and there are even more options. Whilst a lot of property is more expensive if you look around you will find better prices. I have friends of a similar age who have bought properties in this kind of price range recently.

Also you say saving for two years as if that is a really long time to save...seems pretty reasonable to me! What is your bank loan for? Without that your savings would be higher and quicker to get that deposit.

My property has increased in value significantly since I purchased it in 2011 (2008-2011 was a great time to buy) and with the gentrification of the local area I'm expecting it to continue to rise. Like I said I bought when I thought it would be a good time to get in on the market and chose an area with lower prices expecting an increase. Prices are now significantly higher but it's still possible to get properties like mine for first time buyers. Maybe you're being too picky and need to look at getting onto the ladder rather than looking at specific areas etc? Or look at the various schemes for first time buyers, whereby you don't need to come up with all of the money for the flat.

What theme is that? I really do not see what the issue is. The term Comrade is a badge of honour with the far left and state socialists like Corbyn and the Momentum group...same as using Brother & Sister. It's not insulting or derogatory at all and no different to some of the comments thrown at Cameron and Osborne - for which I have no care.
I suppose Brother Bragg signing The Red Flag at Comrade Corbyn's meetings is all fiction as well.

I don't much care what term Jeremy Corbyn uses when talking to his associates - when you use it you are using it in a calculated and detremental way. The same way as the word 'Yid' may be used in a number of different ways by different people. Uses of terms such as 'comrade', or 'leftie' etc. are used by those on the other side purely to antagonize - why do you feel the need to do this ? Would you refer to me as 'comrade' Cologne ? Of course not because you know it would come over in the wrong way.

Hi, just popped in to see whether things had changed and some posters on here had grown up. It appears not, so I'll put sh and Toby back to ignore and try again in a few weeks time.

So, the majority of us on here are Trots, Lefties and sandal wearing Lib Dems ? Tell me, why do you waste your time on here with us ? Anyone who doesn't agree with your narrow views is automatically catagorized into some 'negative' grouping or other, with the inevitable result being that debates degenerate into slagging matches.

I wouldn't worry about him cologne. He must be a troll. Nobody in their right mind could be such a vile, nasty, arrogant, bullying, self-regarding braggart in real life. It's a shame that Toby reacted to him so badly - forcing me to ignore his increasingly erratic rants as well.

Put him on ignore and forget about him. He does not matter in the great scheme of things - this is, after all, only a football website and this thread has become increasingly sterile over the last few weeks..

As has been previously discussed on the WEB site, the term "Yid" is considered highly offensive to many Jews, including contributors to this WEB site. Same with the use of the P and N words to those communities. So this is out of context completely.

I will say it again, the use of the terms Comrade, Brother and Sister are in general and accepted use by these groups of a particular political persuasion. So if they find it acceptable, why are you so concerned?
Again you are confusing what I would describe a Politician and a contributor on here - politicians are fair game. I would not call you Comrade Cologne as I do not consider you to be of the far left, but I might call you Green Cologne if appropriate, is that so wrong? If I was a Tory party supporter, I would have no problem being called a Tory, but I would be offended by being called a Vile Tory or Tory Scum or a Xenophobe or a Racist, which I have been called recently. Just check out the pictures posted on the "Thought For The Day" thread.

Come on w-y, you must admit you are using the term somewhat pejoratively. Do not stoop to the level at which I, and I suspect a good few others, will have to start ignoring you. I agree with a lot of what you post, disagree sometimes, but am always interested in what you say. Please don't spoil it - if you are called names, simply ignore them (and the poster).

Not really Vic, of all of the political positions, the far far left is the one that I mistrust and dislike the most (closely followed by the far far right, although I am sure many on here would not believe it). I believe the Corbyn (I will give you that one for being so polite) is a bit of a Trojan Horse to be used to get far far left candidates into the PLP - but I actually welcome that as it enables a far more interesting debate. So for me the term Comrade fits perfectly. I also have no issue with the names that I have seen on here called out for Cameron, Osborne, Farage, BoJo etc, - politicians are fair game. But if any contributor on here said to me, please do not call me a Green or a Lefty or a Liberal Lefty as they were offended, I would apologise and not do it again.

But Brian, have you not noticed that some on this WEB site, only contribute to this thread. They never contribute to any football related threads - strange that!
