How is bringing your best player off the bench a great decision? Howson shouldn't have been on the bench in the first place. That table is out of date, Grayson's wiki page has his win percentage as 51: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Grayson Look how bad his win percentage at Blackpool is, too. And that's with a promotion from League 1, and they got promoted when he left.
I am not saying Grayson is the best Blackpool manager, I am saying Leeds. As I have already said further down, I accept he isn't really the best but he certainly isn't the worse.
It's very refreshing having Clivetime on ignore, I suggest if you don't already you should try it. Beckford didn't get Wise or Macca promoted. Great quote from Clivetime's profile: "Clivetime hasn't made any friends yet" .
Under Wise and Macca we got 91 points, enough to be promoted by 10 points. Grayson is the only manager who couldn't finish the season with enough points to get us promoted. What was the point of this thread then, Ristac? And didn't we appoint Grayson based on what he did at Blackpool?
Best managers are: 1. The Don 2. Wilkinson (the only two men to have won anything of note with us) 3. Graham / O'Leary (neither won anything, O'Leary got us playing at a level good enough to be champions but was unable to sustain it at crucial times, Graham is much derided for his involvement in the "bungs" scandal but he took over when we were in a sorry mess and much of O'Leary's success was based on the foundation he built) 5. Grayson (doing OK so far with a limited budget, achieved everything expected...now we expect to gain promotion to the EPL...time will tell)
Don't get into a debate with this clown Clivetime Poly, he hates SG with a passion for getting us promoted.
(doing OK so far with a limited budget, achieved everything expected...now we expect to gain promotion to the EPL...time will tell) i see one small problem with this statement, HE WONT LIVE THAT LONG,,,,
In three years time we'd have been out of the Premier League for ten years. Why on earth would you give him that long?
In half a season, he took us from mid-table to play-offs and didn't give up on autos until it was impossible to reach. In his first full season, he got us promoted. When we got into the top 2, we were knocked outside it for 1 week. Last season, he took a team of unproven League One players and kept them in contention for a top 6 finish until the final day of the season, despite only chasing promotion for half a season. He's done this while managing a club that is recovering from possibly the biggest financial meltdown in English football history. Besides, if you get your wish and Grayson is sacked, who would replace him? Avram Grant? Dave Jones? Billy Davies?
Now I know my memory is not as good as it once was, but I'm sure I remember Leeds United (managed by Mr Simon Grayson) finished the 2009/2010 season with enough points to get promoted. Or was I just dreaming ?
Weird because I have a very vivid dream of the event too. I remember standing in front of Soccer Saturday because I was literally too nervous to sit down.
