A joke absolutely. Every time someone says that speed cameras are a cash cow I want to tell them they are stupid and very dangerous individuals.

My comment was meant to be a sarcastic or ironic representation of the speed morons of the ilk of that idiot Clarkson and his silly chums.

Was listening to a playlist that I found on Spotify earlier and ended up listening to a 90s hit. Remember this one, anyone? :)

Great track off Supernatural which is an excellent album...I think Rob Thomas is lead singer of Matchbox20, and was one of many talents who provided vocals. Dave Matthews and CeeLo Green are among the many on the album

Henry's was a great shop. Guy really knew his stuff as well. Didn't he move to Northam Road at one point?

My dear old Grandad used to visit Henry's everytime he stayed with us in Southampton. It was about the only place that he could buy his James Last and German marching band music and listen to before he bought them!

Apart from simply closing down I can't quite remember what happened to Suttons. I don't know whether they sold out or the owner retired. Bloody good local record shop though. After Suttons closed for the final time I went into town to HMV, but they didn't keep their stock anything like as well. I think I returned at least half a dozen records to them before I finally gave up. Then I bought where I fancied, including Henry's. There were several record shops in town though so loyalty didn't mean a great deal.

Subway Records by the Hants and Dorset bus depot was always a good place to hang out. They had loads of bootleg LPs on the racks for a while too.

And Virgin's by the Bargate. They both let you try before you'd buy.

Now why on earth would we need that? ;) This one is stuck in my head at the moment. Brian Wilson finds yet another hook. Brother Carl sings lead. Great melodic voice he had. Incidentally, this sounds tons better on proper vinyl:

While we're on the subject of effortlessly cool American legends, and since it's now the wee small hours, how about the absolute king of cool...

Last one from me. I used to think rock n roll started after WWII. It didn't come from nowhere though.

This isn't an advertisement this is asking for fund raising support for Saints Foundation.

This wonderful lady is Linda Norris the Mayor of Southampton. Each year there is a Mayor's Charity in which money is raised for good causes. This year Linda is raising money for Rose Road, the Air Cadets and Saints Foundation. All excellent causes.
On Tuesday 12th April the Mayor is hosting a traditional English Afternoon Tea at the Grand Café at South Western House in aid of her charities. The tea cost just £15.50 per person and this provides an opportunity to meet and chat with Mayor in a wonderful setting. Our Mayor is a most charming lady and great fun.
Please do support her work if you can and if you want to come along for tea with the Mayor then book a place by telephoning 023 8033 9303. For more information visit this website:

Furys rematch with Klitchsko to be on 9th July in Manchester.

That's same weekend as Wimbledon singles finals, British GP & the Euro 2016 final.. what a weekend of sport!
