That hasn't stopped you from absolving Bruce of all blame and trying to pin it on a bloke who's never picked any of our signings.
You need to let it go mate. I don't absolve him from blame nor do I blame him. I leave that angry stuff for the moonrakers on here. I can't keep repeating the same old explanations post after post. Just re-read my old ones. Why didn't we sign Blackman from Reading in the January window? Why didn't we sign Rhodes? How the **** would I know? I can only speculate ( and even then only to counterract the angry brigade). Wages, transfer fee or Ehab putting the cheque book away? Does it matter? Move on - it's gone. It didn't happen, and we are where are.
So you keep giving your opinions on matters you don't know or indeed need to know about? So the manager has no responsibility for anything? Especially when he has spent time stressing how the Allams back his decisions. Makes you wonder why he is paid as much per year as a lot on here will earn in a lifetime if things on and off the field are nothing to do with him.
You started off by saying our attack was ****, but we shouldn't blame the bloke who decided we should sign those players, suggesting Ehab was partly to blame, despite him giving Bruce massive financial backing.
Started off??? I mentioned in passing that in my opinion our attack was lightweight when compared tour midfield and defensive strength. Anyone care to disagree? No takers. Thought so. Maybe the financial backing for Steve Bruce ran out a while back which is why we have a sulky Arsenal teenager on loan, an unproven Norwegian, and Sone Aluko as partners/back up for our erratic main striker. I think all of our rivals have better strikeforces/options in attack. At the risk of repeating myself for the umpteenth time, maybe SB has ended up with the last in the shop stuff in terms of attackers.
You did, but that isn't the bit we are taking issue with. It's this bit. How is it overly simplistic to blame the person responsible for picking players to sign for having a team that contains, by your own definition, a lightweight attack? The only person who chooses which players we want to bring in is the manager. No matter what restraints or budgets he has, the players he chooses should be ones that improve the squad, otherwise why would he bring them in at all? Had he not signed Dio, we'd have been playing the exact same team we played against Derby all season, because Akpom and Dio haven't even been in the squad. So this team that Steve Bruce has assembled, which you say is lightweight in attack, isn't the fault of Steve Bruce? The only simplistic thing here is the answer, it's his fault.
(Love the 'we are taking issue with' bit by the way...is it a special gang you've all formed?) So if he had the option of playing a season 2 or 3 strikers short, in effect limiting him to Hernadez and Aluko only, how would that have panned out, specially when Uruguay were playing? Or maybe he had a short period of time after the sale of Ndoye and Jelavic, right at the end of the transfer window, when all his main targets had gone? Perhaps he should have gone public at this point and said something along the lines of "Don't blame me, I don't really rate these lads but the chairman's son wanted to be sure he could sell the main 2 strikers first, and that took far longer than expected, so we had to take what we could. Like I say, it's not my fault, it's his." That wouldn't have been very professional or loyal of him, would it?
**** that Sir Chesh. I'm never moving again. Ever. I might fix the shed that's already here. It's massive but big holes in it. There's space next to it for the new shed. 2 sheds. Feels greedy.
So why did he give away two right full backs for nothing and buy a new one for 3.5 million - and certainly one that isn't any better
Just sit in there Happy looking at your stuff, nothing more satisfying. I've started collecting stuff again. Bought a new gun & hose for the power washer at the weekend, it looks good. Might give it a go tomorrow if it stops raining.
My my how time flies.... Remember this yapping poodle flash mob after the defeat at Derby? They're struggling in the Chumpionship basement now after SB led us into the Big League (again). COME ON HAL
