The french and the germans both export more to the UK than we export to them. It is in their financial interest to continue this trade. They realise we must trade for mutual benefit.

As you claim that they write the rules, surely they can just open up new trade routes like you expect the UK to do?

i fear they will buy what they want and sell everything they can so we will lose out in unfair trade. plus investment into the UK will slow as no one will know what is happening long term

Certainly, but why would the french not want to sell their wine to the UK or german car manufacturers turning their backs on their second best export market. It just does not make any commercial sense.

Why would they choose not to sell to the UK? If there were other trade routes to sell their cars and wine to do you not think they would have already done that? I suppose they could always do that but that will harm their economy as much as ours

    Spite?

If, as predicted, the value of the £ drops dramatically then it will probably encourage them to trade with us, but any added benefit will be wiped out by the higher debt repayments we'll face.

I thought you also claimed yesterday that it takes years for the EU to sort anything out?

They may stop buying our products, but surely there is a reason our product is being bought in the first place rather than WE ARE IN THE EU. I would like to think there was more to it than that.

Investment might slow down. We will have a big fat dollop of cash that we don't pay into the EU to self invest.

Also, if we're going to be infinitely rich and everything is going to work perfectly, why do Dave and Gideon want to stay in? It makes no sense...

Yes they could not trade with us out of spite but that would just make the existing troubles of the eurozone greater. It surely wouldn't help somewhere like Greece who need all the trade they need!. if you think politicians are that childish then i'd be very surprised. Considering Russia is against half the world and China is hated by many, we still have lots of trade going on with them even though Russia is on an official sanctions list

It probably does take years to sort out anything!. With respect to not having a direct trade agreement, i'm pretty sure there are standard tariffs out there for countries that don't have a trade agreement so trade can still go on just not with ideal terms and conditions. Otherwise are you saying that unless there are trade agreements directly between every single country, people cannot trade?

I don't think we are going to be infinitely rich. I just don't believe that we will be infinitely poorer and turn into Somalia if we are not part of the EU. It's precisely because of sovereignty and wanting to keep our existing state assets (maybe even more) that i don't want us joining the EU. The fact Dave and Gideon want to should be a sign of things to come.

No that's the trade agreement they have with the EU. We can negotiate our own. It might be the case we would need to contribute, we might not... this is not a fact

Did I say we're going to turn into Somalia? No. There are lots of countries in between...

What state assets are being affected by EU membership?

So are you a Tory supporter where money comes before anything else? That is fine as that is your own view and there is can be no more debate for Brexit for you as logically in the short term, we will probably be better off in the EU.

Of course it is, why would be get preferential treatment?

If we do leave we're heading into unknown territory, and the only thing we can base our future position on is how other non-EU members in Europe currently operate.

TTIP, we've gone through this before. Especially if something gets sold off privately, you can bet that we won't be able to re-nationalise it under TTIP rules.

Well from the sounds of how our economy is going to go, you think UK will go to the ****ter from the sounds of things
