When I lived in Dennistoun you could tell the ones who'd bought their house, the bare lightbulb is a dead giveaway.
I feel it my duty to stand up for London but I do have to admit that certain parts of it are utter sh*t holes. Or rather the scumbags that are allowed to live there contribute enormously to the state of the place. Little wonder that in the 50's and 60's there were signs up at the windows with "no dogs, blacks or oirish" There are enclaves around town where you don't want to go but some of the worst holes are now being tarted up and have gone up-market. I'd only ever go to Brixton if there was a gig at the Academy but now it is yuppie central and the likes of Shoreditch & Hoxton can be as expensive as Kensington these days, 20 years ago you couldn't give houses away there. What about all the Schemes in Scotlandshire? I doubt they are any better than our estates like Stonebridge Park, White City or Broadwater Farm.
Another 2 http://m.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/14411002.Two_pensioners_mugged_in_Govanhill_in_just_one_day/ the suspect who attacked him is described as of Eastern European appearance, dark skinned, in his late teens and was wearing a black leather jacket, grey hooded top and blue denims.
Old people get pensions. Younger people get the dole. Is that not still money? You think the place Trevor is talking about is Beverly Hills?
