I love Jerome, but he doesn't look like a Prem Striker. If the gossip was true about Boro and £8m or whatever, we prob should have taken it.

When he came on against Newcastle, I didn't think "Ah, this is to grab a goal to confirm this" I thought, Naismith and Mbok have ran their bums off, gotta be knackered, and he wants a strong man up top who will run himself into the ground like they did.

Id agree with that. He works very very hard, and his strength and effect as a unit is good. He's useful to close out close games this season, I would guess.

He has a great attitude, defends from the front and is very strong in holding up the ball. When he plays as a sole front man he needs support from midfield. Unfortunately until recently our midfield has been unbalanced with defensively minded players to prop up our inadequate defence. In my mind he either needs to play with an attack minded midfield or a second striker. I wouldn't want him as a our fist choice striker next year, unless of course we're in the championship, but would be happy with him as perhaps our third choice striker.

Seems quite a strange thing to read. He surely cannot be believing he will get an offer from another PL side, or rather I cannot. he just does not have the pedigree at that level, try as he might.

I dunno I would have thought that in the last few weeks he would have caught some eyes and a promoted team would take another punt on him. He's effective even if he's not going to score 15 goals a season.

Failing that I guess he just meant he'd be going back to Ukraine or looking elsewhere

Yes but opens the question of whether we would want to take up the option of Mbokani?

If we stay up or drop I'd be keen to keep Mmmbok. He seems to be growing into his role and an on form, confident holding striker is just what we need right now. If the worst happens though, he could be a monster in the championship. I'd imagine though if we drop he'll be back to Kiev or more likely elsewhere.

I understand that Kiev are paying part of his wages, so if we were to be relegated and decided to take up the option of buying him, he would have to agree to a significant, probably, reduction in his income. He will not be with us in the championship, but we won't be there anyway. Jerome? Not a PL striker unfortunately.

Here's a five year old story from BBC that says Dynamo Kiev players don't get paid if they draw or lose. I don't know if it's still true. If it is, Mbo's rumored salary of £70-80,000/wk may not be that much after all.

Come May am I correct that we will only have Jerome and Naismith plus Loza as our strikers? I presume that we will be in the market for attackers - whether we are shopping in Lidl or Waitrose we shall see in the coming weeks!

You get some good deals in Lidl!!!
I reckon you'd have to say Mahrez was from Lidl.
Mind you I saw this earlier - http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...-Premier-League-raid-Man-United-transfer-news or 10,000% profit!!!!

Passing stats against Palace 57.5%, that is awful. I wonder what they do in training/practice? :emoticon-0112-wonde
