Possibly, but it depends on how you'd define a clever person. Is a **** (but qualified) accountant, cleverer than a multi-millionaire brickie?
My uncle has a property portfolio across London off the back of establishing, developing and selling a building company. I'd consider him far cleverer, than some scruffy ****ing 'mature student' academic with a whole bunch of useless qualifications under his belt, living in a 1 bedroom flat on his own with his boiled egg dinners.
Started out as one. Doesn't have an academic qualification to his name, that was my point, I dunno what you're trying to prove.

Thank you, you've just proved my point. Varying levels of defining what is and what is not 'clever'. The lawyers and accountants, may be the clever ones, or it may just be that the guys Nos was chatting about, just had that little something of an edge to their personality, to succeed.
Absolutely this!! You don't need qualifications in life to succeed although they can help you get a foot in the door of your chosen profession. I've got a couple of mates, self-made millionaires, left school without any qualifications. Just loads of common sense and a desire to achieve a high standard of living. The right personality alone can get you way ahead in life if what you want are material things. Another mate is the most chilled, serene guy you'd ever meet, with no need for "things". Smart as hell as well.
Ive got one who is a millionaire several times over. Him and his mate own double glazing firm and a kitchen factory on the tyne valley estate. Proper coke heed but obviously got a business head. **** drives a Bently gt.
The most successful people I know, personally, have a massive range of networked contacts. Money attracts money in this world, if you have it, you'll move in circles where more of it will become readily available as long as you have something to offer back. Once you're drying up, you'll be dropped by everybody. I know a guy who used to be worth probably £200m who owned so much industry in this city he'd be trying to buy businesses he already ****ing owned, he's a nobody now, washed up old snail, sells carpets out of a van because he got greedy and ****ed too many people over. He's one of the cleverest people I know, but nobody trusts him anymore, his background... his old man took him out of school at 11 and had him cutting fabric up, because he was too thick to do anything at school so he made him work instead.
I wouldn't expect any detailed and crushing revelations about our Western leaders from these Panama Papers, despite, no doubt, they're all as dirty as Russia, Syria whom these revealing papers are mainly aimed at . Interestingly so who funds the ICIJ (International Consortium of Investigative Journalists) that broke this news story? It was done entirely by the USA’s Center for Public Integrity, and their funders include Ford Foundation Carnegie Endowment Rockefeller Family Fund W K Kellogg Foundation Open Society Foundation (Soros) They never would, of course, put the papers in the public domain.

I don't think anybody would deny any man his success so long as he paid his taxes. Panama's economy is apparently one of the strongest in the world growing 6% per year. I believe that the wording of the law is all about tax evasion as opposed tax avoidance. Apparently they mean two different things as one is legal and the other criminal.
Corbyn's defence and immigration policies are the ones I have massive trouble with. However, there is no doubting his honesty and his belief in fairness and social justice..
His defence policy will ensure he never gets the top job. People don't want to feel unsafe, that's the last thing people want. The PLP will ensure that Corbyn's crazy views on defence and immigration never see daylight, and he will undoubtedly work hard to close these crazy tax get out clauses that currently exist and work to create a fairer, kinder and more socially just society...
