How much money did they want?

Would have been McShane's third contract, we've made him a multi millionaire.

Pretty sure both were happy to accept whatever contracts we could afford to offer them, Rosenior in particular seemed keen to see out his career here and would have made it work. I think he was on the verge or had accepted the contract offer we put to him but we withdrew it.

Rosenior went because Bruce simply didn't rate him, he barely played him when he was with us, it was a mistake.

McShane was massively overpaid for years and we've got better options now, I didn't care that he was released.

Pretty sure because both expressed as much in interviews but I'm clearly not mates with them so don't catch up with them on a regular basis and can only assume that what they expressed in the media both before and after the club hung them out to dry was their honest opinion.

We haven't made him a multi millionaire, his ability as a regular top flight and international footballer did that.

I can't fathom those sorts of decisions. It's a bit how it is with Maguire at the moment. Player who barely puts a foot out of line and plays quite well when given the chance can't get a look in. Not sure why managers do it.

Effort and energy is what we need at the moment, we look tired, lifeless and unable to impose ourselves in games. You get effort and energy aplenty with Boyd. Diame? Hmm the odd flash of brilliance doesn't cut it in this league

Someone needs to leave otherwise Harry's career will stall. Will be interesting to see if we offer a new contract to Davies.

He's already signed a new one..?

Do you mean Dawson? He'll go in the summer if we don't go up which suits me fine as I'd much rather get games into Maguire.

Dawson's by far our best defender, Maguire should play alongside him, definitely not instead of him.

Agree with this. I like Davies as a defender but I think his awkwardness on the ball is becoming more and more of a problem. Maguire or Dawson wouldn't have fallen over trying to control it the other night.

Absolutely that would be my preference, but I can't see him staying if we don't go up. I'm just suggesting that if he is to go then I have confidence in Maguire stepping up so our defence isn't too much worse off.

It was up this summer, but he signed an extension three weeks ago, taking him to the end of the 2017/18 season.

I really didnt see this. How bizarre.

Well we shouldnt have offered him a deal unless we go 3 at the back or Dawson is leaving. Nothing against Curtis, I like him a lot, but for me Harry is our long-term centre back and captain material.

And? Most of our players are playing at a lower level too!

Everyone is calling for a striker... SB cant manage the strikers that we have at the moment.
so adding more to the dead wood that we already have installed in the team seems a little crazy.
you can tell that he was a defender by his tactics.

While we're on this subject - exactly which lessons have been learned between the signings of Proschwitz and Diamonde?

I don't think they have. All the strikers we have signed from abroad have been flakey if we're honest.
