I can see the lad actually being a standout player for us in the championship. Genuine thought which popped into my head just now.
    Part of an English spine.

He's mediocre on a good day in the Premier League but I agree that in the Championship he'll probably look pretty good. Same goes for a lot of our players tbh.

I could also see Anita being a useful player in that division too. Have a feeling Lascelles will really come into his own too.

If we get rid of the cowards we will be left with a good basis of a Championship squad.
We will get money for player sales as Mike won't have ****s take the puss in valuations. Add in the Parachute payments and we will be in a strong position....
Don't forget that we will be a big draw for players in that division.
As long as we get the right manager when Rafa goes.
I'd take Pearson, Moyes or Redknapp in a heartbeat.

Wouldn't take Redknapp any time any place any where. He is the epitome of ****iness.

Not Redknapp, but Pearson, Moyes, or Steve Bruce.

I think we have championship standard players, which is proven in that Rob Elliot will probably be player of the year.

Rafa may as well piss off now if he is just going to run as soon as he's relegated us. He needs to do the decent thing and give the next manager time before the ensuing crisis.

I know I know. The problem with Bruce is his spending record, he has done well on limited budgets and disastrous when he has funds to play with, but he knows the championship and has always done well, plus Ashley will never let a manager off the leash again.

Former Sunderland manager or not, I would not be unhappy with him at the club.

Pearson would be my pick. He may just have too much of a backbone for Penfolds liking though. Moyes............... meh!! Redknapp............ not a chance that he will come here, too far from Sandbanks. Steve 'I'm a Geordie, me like' Bruce.............. no thanks.

Aye, 3 games is more than enough time for him to turn this ship around. <laugh>

Personally I hope we bring in Pearson if we are relegated. As important, if not more, is replacing those at the top making catastrophic decisions on a daily basis. Charnley is sorely out of his depth and Carr's record just isn't good enough.

I agree. Replacing the 'footballing board' is almost more important than who our next manager is for me. Prime example............. look at the two twats that own West Ham. A right pair of clowns, in my opinion....................... but they let Karen Brady run the club and weather you like her or not, she clearly knows what she is doing. They have got an unbelievable deal regarding the Olympic Stadium, they clearly have a good scouting network and they have appointed a decent, young manager. All of these things slot into place because you have people at the helm that know what the **** they are doing and they are also actually respected in the footballing world. Not an over promoted tea boy that only knows how to stuff his fat face with chocolate hob nobs .

For ****s sake Ashley, just employ a couple of people that know what the **** they are doing.............. not some gadgey that you met in the kebab shop queue.

He was a Hail Mary pass, it didn't come off. We've had the easier fixtures and picked up 1 point. The purpose wasn't a long-term solution, it was an attempt to create buoyancy typically associated with a new manager's tenure, which didn't happen.

We'll get 3 vs Villa and that's probably our lot.

I would try and attract the Bournemouth manager. Doubt he would come mind but I think he is a top manager in the making. I would also take woe Chris back aswell. But think the past would stop that. I would also prefer to go for an English manager. Steve Bruce is a no no for me. I know he has a good track record in the championship but I can see him being fiddled by Ashley. The other side of the scale is Pearson. I think Ranieri is taking the plaudits for his hard ground work prior to him leaving. But Pearson would acre the **** out of Ashley.

For me, in order, Rafa Benitez, Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche and David Ginola.

Think we will end up with Bruce.

    Why Ginola?

Is he even a manager or involved in football?
