This is a cluster-**** of epic proportions; the level of incompetence of all those involved is simply stunning. What I find particularly regrettable is that, once again, the club, namely it's Communications Manager (is that still his title?) has drawn well-meaning supporters into this sorry fiasco. I hope those members of the FWG now shun any involvement with the club until they have put this matter right and have given an open and honest explanation of just what on earth they are thinking of. I will not hold my breath, but really, collaboration with these deceitful fools is not the way forward; I said this one or two years ago and the club do and have done nothing whatsoever to prove me wrong. They mock you all and treat you with utter contempt.
It's not collaboration, it's the only opportunity for the fans to have any say in what the club is doing and I'll decide what meetings I go to thanks.
You have an odd understanding of what collaboration is; is not the whole concept of the FWG about working together to achieve common goals? Or do you see yourselves as being in competition - then again, may be the owners do. You are welcome to attend whatever meetings you wish, that was a tarts response.
Sadly, the goals are generally very different. You said we should stop going and we're all being treated like mugs, yet you've never been to one of these meetings, so have no real idea what they're like. A bit like having an opinion on a game you didn't see.
So potentially 'parents / legal guardians, other friends & relatives etc' will have to pay £50 (& register) to take those young 'new customer's (aka children) to their first game ... visionary , genius , breaking the mould ... it will catch on, it will ...
Apologies if this has already been posted. I see that at Derby they have been spot checking season passes on entry. How frequently compared to City I've no idea. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/...-to-continue-at-the-ipro-stadium-2695869.aspx
We've had the conversation before, so I think you're aware of why I feel that, whilst the FWG in its current format is far from perfect, it's one of only a few things that we have right now, and rather than being vetoed, should be better used to make fans feelings known. I would say that it's far from the only way fans have of finding out what's going on and expressing their views to the club, this membership scheme being a point in case. The FWG seemingly got limited information and couldn't feed back, making their involvement a token gesture, so that the club could announce fans were involved. That is wrong by the club, and no criticism of those that attended the FWG presentation. It was fans finding out through other means, and making their voice heard independent of the FWG or any other groups that got the scheme revised. Perhaps that is something that fans should build on to present a collective voice. Or maybe people are just weary of the lot and will vote with their feet.
I would have thought that the whole intention of those meetings would be to discuss and examine ways in which all parties (not all supporters share the same view) feel the club can move forward, that in itself is collaboration, how the success of any collaboration is measured is another matter entirely. What I said is that you should shun any involvement until they have put this matter right - what do you think you are achieving? The history of the FWG meetings is one of supporter members complaining about a lack of openness and ambiguity on the part of the club, a lack of them listening or of them claiming to listen to the supporters, but of them then totally disregarding the concerns of supporters, ignoring pledges made to supporter members and generally treating the members with disregard and ignorance. In short, treating them like mugs, will do for me. They are doing it again. "yet you've never been to one of these meetings, so have no real idea what they're like" - really, that is how you see anyone's view of the endless posts you have all made (you in particular), on here and elsewhere, with the specific aim of helping us all understand what does go on? I think there have been more than enough first-hand reports, from different members, different perspectives, for us all to take a view - do you really disagree with that? It might be unfortunate that some views make you unhappy; deal with it, don't come back with another tart's response. Not like that at all, as that is wrong and I would not do it - your most pitiful response yet. You seem to have set yourself up as some sort of intermediary, you have misrepresented as least one fact and are getting into needless arguments about something someone is supposed to be telling you. It getting sadder by the moment.
I have absolutely no issue (edit) with the FWG if the supporters invited are treated with respect, but all too frequently the feedback from them, either immediate or after a passage of time and events, is that they are not. I also agree that not to meet and try and find common ground is a serious decision to make, which is why I deliberately limited it's timescale for as long as it takes them to resolve this membership fiasco and for them to offer some sort of expalnation as to their thinking - we have had more than enough bullshit to be entitled to expect this from a reasonable (sic) owner. This part of your post is exactly what I describe as their shameless manipulation of the FWG. I, also. do not blame attending supporters, but I have used my post to offer my advice (that was all that it was - take it, or leave it) although I do wonder just how long folk should attend to be manipulated like this. I believe the way in which they used the NDA was little short of scurrilous when you consider what they took more than 3 hrs to divulge and then were left legally (?) powerless to contest - although we know the good intentions of our supporters (as I stated) the club crassly implicated them in a their obnoxious plans.
The sooner this is all out in the open...the better. I really hope no one on here will be in agreement with the club charging kids and pensioners the same price as adults IF thats what they intend to do. Agreeing with that woud be ****ish first class
It pains me to say it but your starting to sound like the clubs Communications Manager. I always had you down as a good egg but some of the stuff you have posted regarding the membership scheme has made me think a bit.
The FWG were invited to give feedback on the proposed scheme and did so. This feedback, along with plenty of other feedback sent by many fans independently, led to a revision of the scheme. I have no idea how much weight they gave to each individuals opinion, neither does anyone else on here, only they know.
I seems like ages since the FWG had a meeting, the last one according to those who were there said it was more of a presentation of the membership scheme. The scheme had been two years in the making and the club called in some fans via a FWG to get the views two weeks? before the official launch, as Fez said it was a token gesture to say the fans had been involved, but none of their opinions changed anything.
It can't work both ways. You supported a comment by Amber Nectar about the limited amount of information given to the individuals at the presentation relative to the later announcements. The FWG couldn't feed back to fans to gather their views, so fans, with more information, voiced their views and got things changed, or at least reviewed. If the FWG views were in deed taken on board, they must have been included in the first version released, or why bother releasing it?
The easiest way to be a good egg, is simply to not get involved in these sort of things. I tried on this thread to simply explain what had been presented at the meeting and what the club was trying to achieve, I can't really do that without it sounding like it came from the club, as it did. I think in future, I'll just post the basic info and leave everyone to it, trying to expand on stuff just gets me grief.
To be fair, Filey, I have highlighted one outspoken member who praised its results on his post, cheering his and his mate's benefits, but I will let it lie now as I would hope hindsight will change that. It was more that he choose to use a denial of doing it to try and hunt me, he was wrong, very wrong, a simple apology (which he falsely demanded from me) would have done, but, as expected, not forthcoming - different rules of decency for himself - hey, Happy Tiger?
