I think there's a degree of truth in your statement, there's something gone seriously awry at the club this past month - Bruces body language and demeanour has certainly changed, the team aren't ''at it'' ...... perhaps everyone has had enough? The owners give the appearance of not giving a **** and it's rolling downhill; manager, coaches, players, ticket office, fans ............. it looks like everyone's fed up.

I can agree with the above even though it's taken me until this late in the day to get over last nights disappointment, and I've still not fully come to terms with it. But......
In our 112 years history we have only been promoted twice to the top division, once automatically and once via the Play Offs. Three Wembley appearances including one Cup Final and one brief excursion into European football. Not a glittering past by any stretch of the imagination. More appearances at the High Court then appearances in Finals.
Most of that success has come under Steve Bruce. Like it or lump it, those are the facts.
Now we are getting sniffy about not winning automatic promotion to the Premier League and there is a growing under current of discontent wanting the manager sacked.
When less then a decade ago anyone suggesting that Hull City would have a serious chance of even one appearance in a Championship Play Off Final at Wembley would have be certified as insane.
I don't like the way this season appears to be panning out either but it could all have a whole lot worse.

    Agreed.
If the moaners on here put as much effort into getting to the ground and supporting the team the fans wold at least be doing their utmost to support the team.
Instead they complain of standards not met without meeting the key to being a supporter/ fan

I understand why your saying and yes we've had some ****e years but the club have moved on and a lot of money has been spent improving the club and squad. Whichever way you look at it IMO the team is not playing well enough, not just now but over nearly the last 2 years. The team is underachieving based on what its value is and the reputations it has in it. As the money has been spent and the club improved so do expectations, you carnt keep harping back to the last 15-20-30 years to justify our failings. As time moves on supporters that will be the next generation won't remember these days as its before their time so they will only have experienced championship and pl football so naturally their expectations are higher than yours

Or, perhaps, their expectations are unrealistic?

We're not a regular Premier League club despite what some supporters think.

It took West Brom/Crystal Palace/etc. 3-4 promotions/relegations and some yo-yoing before they stayed up for a prolonged period.

I wish some supporters were more accepting of losses - even if we shouldn't have lost. Nobody wins every game.

Reputations count for nothing as is being proved. It's pointless going on about players price tag or value. Nothing counts but what they put in on the pitch.

Our points return for the whole season including the top six and bottom dwellers hasn't been good enough. Since spring 2014, we have consistently turned winning positions into draws and draws into losses which cost us relegation and I have come to the realization that Mr. Bruce and his tactics are long past their best before date and will probably cost us promotion.

You and the other optimists on this board can continue to view City though rose tinted spectacles and "look forward to what's to come." I don't think it will be pretty but I hope I am wrong and I will gladly accept a large slice of humble pie should Mr. Bruce and the players turn things around.

Why is it unrealistic to expect this team to be playing better? It isn't and if you think it is then we are admitting Bruce has spunked a fortune

    Rose tinted spectacles? Hardly.

I just don't take every loss as doom and gloom. I'm obviously disappointed. What if we won that FA Cup Final? What if we went further in Europe? What if we weren't relegated last season? But that did happen. And we accept where we are.

The grass isn't always greener. Sometimes, it's not even green.

No it's unrealistic to expect us to walking this league. It's unrealistic to expect us to avoid relegation in a breeze.

All teams have dips. All teams have games where they should have played better. It's unrealistic to expect that not to happen.

    That's all.

What do you want me to post? Bruce Out?

Regardless of what's happening on the pitch, I'm not going to start being negative about it all. It won't improve anything. I don't think booing helps but those that do it are perfectly entitled to.

Funny how the fans had no problem turning out in force when we were in Division 3 or even at this standard pre-Allam. Incredible that you question the fans' credentials as if it's their job to just take whatever **** is thrown at them and keep handing their money over. Wake up, the attendances are **** for a reason, and it's exactly what we said would happen.

Again, typical City fan response. "We've been at the bottom." "In my day we were playing Bury and Halifax." Flash forward, it's 2016. Hull City aren't a little team pushing for a promotion to Division 2 anymore. We've spent money, have a quality squad and now have the expectations to match. It could be worse, it could get a whole lot worse if you look at the likes of Bolton, Bradford, Fulham, Blackburn, Wigan and Swindon. They didn't bounce straight back either.

If you enjoyed the days of popping out to see City play Plymouth in front of a crowd of 4,500 people then you're in for a shock because those days are gone. Missing out on promotion this season would mean a lot more than not seeing Rooney and co come to town. We're missing out on a massive financial deal that could see us become self sustaining and not over reliant on nutcase owners. That money could go towards developing youth facilities and home grown players, something which a lot of us bemoan a lack of. It could go towards buying the stadium from the council or funding an expansion, or any one of the myriad things we'd like to see.

It's all about context. If we were in the position we are now with the team we had in 2005 then fine, such a viewpoint would be totally understandable. Except we aren't so it isn't. The team is infintely better, there's a lot more money going through it and the consequences are much, much greater now.

It could've been worse, but more importantly, it should've been better and it's poor that so many people aren't willing to scrutinise because they think it makes them bad fans. If you don't question the predicament and voice your concern, how the hell can you hope for it to get better?
