I have posted before that Snodgrass can be accommodated in a 3-5-2; folk simply have to stop being constrained by the neatness of symmetry. It is highly possible to play a wing and a wing- back, admitted, it takes a bit of vision, a bit of practice, good coaching and a preparedness to think out of the box. They manage it abroad, but over here perhaps it is too much to ask - actually developing a team to reflect and utilise their player's key qualities - probably the ones you paid a lot of cash for.
Agreed, I think it's time to have a change, with Snodgrass running through the middle with the ball at his feet as part of the midfield 3, I also think Tom plays better as part of a midfield 3, and we get moving forward more quickly. It will enable us also to get two strikers on the pitch, and it will give the opposition something more to think about rather than them just defending 50/50 balls being crossed from the wings.
Are you still with Away Direct? These stories about the aggro people are going through sorting tickets is getting ridiculous.
I I aren't anymore but my mate is , when I go away I buy a ticket and then go swap them , done it 10/12 times last couple of years with no issue... I don't know if it's club policy or just the kid in the shop couldn't be arsed , as he gives that impression to me even when he's just selling you a pencil
After a little further thought, I quite fancy this... ---------------McGregor ------Maguire Dawson Davies Elmo------------------------------Roberson ---Livermore Huddlestone Meyler --------------Snodgrass --------------Hernandez
I wouldnt have thought now is the time to start giving snodgrass practice and coaching at playing wingback. Maybe at the start of the season. We need players who play 100% and do what they do best now. Bruce has ****ed about with players out of position too much already.
To be honest in all the doom and gloom, watching Harry Maguire with the ball at his feet is the only thing to cheer me up at the minute. There will be a Delaney goal soon!
You have missed the point totally; you do not turn Snodgrass into a wing- back, you play him as an winger with a wing- back (Robbo / Elmo) on the other side. Yes, it's lopsided, but can be very effective if done properly, with three CBs.
Appalling attitude and his cant wait to go back to Arsenal comments were the last straw. Get luer on the bench rather than him
Luer's at Stevenage, where he's started three and scored none, I'm afraid he's not the answer. Stick Snodgrass up front in a 3-5-2, at least he knows how to score.
That's exactly the team I'd pick. But you know it'll be Aluko up front by himself. "You know, he's played well over the last two weeks has Shawnie and to be fair to the lad, he's done well. We know he can play....etc..etc...fist of it.....dust worselves down...."
I said it beginning of the season, I'd rather give luer the run than Akpom. His attitude was **** from day one. So until he gets the chance, Akpom clearly hasn't been the answer.
