Ah, the old gits bus pass!

Yes, I've got one - but here in middle England Mrs Rijrode doesn't get one until she's 66! <yikes>

    Morning dave; morning, all.

Just mooched over to the Canary board and blimey! You're banging your head against the old wall there, aren't you? Just because a player can score at one level, does not make him EPL material.
So Vardy did. Now list a hundred who didn't, couldn't. Where are Troy's 20 goals per season now? Different role, sure, but it's a different league.

I'm all for contingency time and everything, BB, but you don't need to take your seat this early, do you?

Evening all from Bandit Country. Back safe and sound from the US and counting the cost of letting Mrs W_Y loose in the shops!

Morning all from an overcast but fairly mild West West London...back to the daily grind in corporate madness.

Morning all from a drab and slightly chilly Bandit Country...went to the gym this morning and struggled like hell, will have to go back this afternoon to finish off. Jet lag is a strange beast!

I've only ever tried to cure mine with alcohol. It hasn't worked yet, but that's not a reason to stop trying.
I prescribe seven pints of Guinness. Next patient, please!

Unfortunately Dr Andy, I am on an alcohol free week-end so that my liver can recover from being in the US. No-one told me that the IPA I was ordering was 6.8% and I could not understand why I was getting so hammered!
If I am still struggling next week-end, I will try your suggestion at WBA away...but it will be Fursty Ferret and not Guinness.
BTW - on the subject of Guinness. My eldest son brought some bottles of "Foreign Guinness" in Tesco's - it's brewed in Nigeria and is over 7% and not very nice, so sitting in the beer fridge waiting for some unsuspecting person to try them!

BTW - on the subject of the Guinness brewery in Nigeria. Back in the early 80's when we first got married, I worked at this little company in Bandit Central repairing Geophysical measurement equipment, one on which was a very early model of Subservice Interface Radar. The company also carried out survey work and got a contract to survey the concrete floor of the Guinness brewery in Nigeria and I went along to make sure the damned thing kept working. We started running a higher frequency transponder over the floor to check the actual concrete and the re-bars, the concrete seemed OK, no major faults but somebody had skimped on the re-bars and they were rather further apart than you would expect. Problem came when we did a run with the low frequency transponder which penetrates below the floor and looks at the underlying ground - well we did not find much ground, it was just one huge void which the floor was sitting over. Well we packed up the equipment and legged it! It seems the chemicals that they use to clean the floor had got into the ground rock and dissolved it! A very scary moment

    Great story! <yikes>

Loved the IPA 6.8 ref. We've all done that haven't we? <laugh>
I've had that Nigerian Guinness and it's too strong for me. I don't like the taste, it's ruined by the high alcohol (I think). There's so many variations/additions to Guinness, but they all leave me cold. Except Guinness Extra Cold, which was alright. ;)

I usually have a couple of Guinness as a hang-over pick-me up when I need to carry on having a drink.
