At the moment, if we go a goal down them I'm pretty certain we're dead and buried, whereas Burnley and Brighton in particular seem quite adept at staging a comeback. I'm sure the statistics would back this up. Probably the difference between success and failure.
Glad I kept the 100 sheets in my sky rocket and stayed at home entertaining a female companion. I would rather spend money to watch Hull FC
The pressing problem is, if we don't go up this season we've got no chance next season. 2 of the relegated 3 will be very strong and almost certain to take the top 2 spots next season. In another note, it really does seem as if top 2 will be Borough and Brighton. Wonder if we'll see Andre Grey here next season after all...?
I'm sure some fans of other clubs were saying that last season, there's no reason to believe that Newcastle, Sun'lan or Villa will be strong, the following season the money should be talking, but whatever happens we don't know our own situation next season! The problem we have is always looking at other teams & not at our own!
Probably because during transfer windows they signed goal scorers. As Bruce keeps saying 'You're only as good as your strikers, or in our singular case striker' because he did **** all to address the issue. Yet he saw prudence in signing a third keeper that hasn't figured yet unless I'm mistaken? Akpom and Diomande who were both a complete waste of time. Lump in Powell to add to the pointless signings list. Then Maloney etc etc. I would rather have had less squad depth and better striking options - we don't utilise the amount of players we have at present anyway. Hugely frustrating.
I'm sure nobody thought us, Burnley or the car crash of DQPR would be as strong as Newcastle, Sunderland or Norwich will be next season.
The only thing that's certain now is that Bruce will be gone - no-one has any faith in his signings, his team selections, his substitutions, his tactics, last night was ****ing abysmal - the main tactic appeared to be, pass back, pass back, pass back until the ball reached either macgregor or daws who would then hoof it up to Aluko to win an imaginary header - Allam must be wondering what the hell he's done putting all his faith and money in the hands of this utterly useless **** - the team has no direction, no leadership, no fight, no idea - if we make the play offs we could face Derby, no points, Brighton, one point or Wednesday 2 points - and all Bruce has to offer at the end of the game is that we have to dust ourselves down - yet still the performing seals sang his name last night - something has got to change and has got to change now - for the good of Hull city, Bruce should go now and hand over the reins to someone else, anyone else - no-one could do a worse job motivating the team so at the very least give Phelan a chance
I hadn't realised Maguire was injured; we were crying out for someone who could carry the ball forwards. If he were available I would have him on for Davies. If Maguire and Elmo had come on for Davies and Robbo, with Dave on the left and Elmo RB, we could not have been worse than we were last night in the second half. But I hadn't seen that fatal flaw; Maguire had fallen down the Brady hole in training.
So no one thought we had the best squad coming down packed with PL players? It was just on here that thought that, despite numerous other teams fans saying we had the best manager & players!
Agreed. It's called bottle. For all of Bruce's critics on here, you can't give a team bottle. Either the players going to give it his all and carry others along with them. Think Ashbee. Who out of that lot fits that description? For all Dawson's looking good, great passer etc. he's not a blood n guts C B who rallies his troops. Ditto for Livermore and Huddlestone.
We are crying out for leadership too and Maguire brings that with his attacking intent, they were comparing this team and the 2008 promotion side on here a few months and most people were saying this side is better- it's not because that team had leaders right through the team, Deano/Ash/Brown/Ricketts
Bruce should have learnt from last season when the players went AWOL and got a leader like Ash in for this season
I can see us getting Derby in the playoffs. They have our number; we are scared of physical challenges and wimp out for fear of injury. If we have a ref who prefers wrestling to football we will always get out of Derby what we've got this season. Nowt. Derby's fans would have been on their backs last night if we'd scored early, but we're "only as good as wor strikers".
I must admit the Steve Bruce chants are getting embarrassing. I wonder when the penny will drop that hoofing the ball up to aluko/hernandez/anyone is a bit pointless.the team looked deflated last night.beaten men and I think we have reached a point of no return for Steve bruce
The first time we went into the Prem we had Ashbee, Brown , Turner who all where fighters. Add to that Deano, Garcia and to a degree Barmby. The second time we had the Irish lads to graft our way up. This season we have nobody. When we go a goal down my heart sinks coz i know its curtains as regards 3 points. The fight just isnt there. Theres always talk of 3,5,2 on here but i dont think thats gonna turn around our fortunes either. Apart from the problem up front which 3 in the middle would have the fight for it now ? Its the ease at which we fall away at times thats the big worry. Do we even have anybody to gee the team up i mean surely its not that hard for one of these lot to take on that responsability. Hopefully we'll see Maguire in a back 3 if fit at least he's got a bit of drive.
