After Atletico lost their iconic dips tick they were under cosh.

2-1 and no more sent off is just ok after barca got second.

It's enough that a scrappy set-pieces goal and 1-0 can send them through.

 

They sat back in the second half which was stupid, if they had continued to play the way they did in the first half they could easily have got a draw minimum.

Atletico will have to attack so Barca can just pick them off in the return. In the other tie tonight, as much as I would love Benfica to get through I feel Bayern have done enough already and their vast experience will see to that!

 

Well.. in general true but anything can happen... Atletico plan will be to keep tight and get set piece goal imo.

For me I would like Burnley, Boro (The North East will lose either Newcastle or Sunderland or both so need a replacement) and Sheffield Wednesday, a club that will be as well supported as Villa, or indeed Everton in the PL.

well done brighton. its a good story.

I remember when they were in effect homeless so someones gone and done a good job there.

CLubs like southampton and leicester and such show what good organisation can go do and villa show the exact opposite.

 

Brighton have had the highest average attendance in the championship for the past 4 years. Never been there before, would be great for the club to get there. Stadium is ready for it, 30k seater stadium.

 

Yup, clubs come on massively since 5/6 years ago when were at withsrawn athletics stadium with 7k seats. Now have 30k seater state of the art stadium and great average attendance.

Its set set up off the field to be a PL club, not sure how this group of players will get on in Prem if they went up, they'd need to re invest in a few new players but experience would be amazing.

 

It has been an amazing turnaround. Fortunately, Brighton has quite a large captive fanbase around Brighton and beyond. A certain club located further west along the South Coast has a similar sized fanbase but for years the club ignored the fact that investment was vital and consequently paid for its negligence. Their fans can only look on with envy at their neighbours either side.
