please log in to view this image Welcome to the super duper, ultra positive thread for the visit of Newcastle to the home of the Scintillating, Sensational, Stunning, Stupendous, Super Saints!!! (SSSSSS). Any negativity will be ridiculed and happy clapping is actively encouraged. The SSSSSS are back on home soil after an encouraging game at the high fliers of Leicester City. Part one of making sure Spuds don’t win the league is done. We let them win by 1 goal to get the three points and not damage our goal difference, and will beat the Spuds on May 8th to hand the title to Leicester. Enough about that, onto this winnable game against the barcodes. SSSSSS go into the game as clear favourites – there is no reason to see anything other than a huge win. We sit 7th in the table, we are on a roll; this is the ‘new Saints’ that does not clutch defeat from the jaws of victory. We even gave Liverpool a two goal and 64 minute head start last time out at St Mary’s and still won the game with 6 minutes to spare! Form coming in to this one: SSSSSS: SSSSSS v Sunderland 1-1 – we equalised in the last minute, if there were 2 more mins left, we’d have won 5-1 Stoke v SSSSSS 1-2 – Mighty win against a good Stoke side, Pelle back to his best! SSSSSS v Liverpool – Gave them a chance, but they were blown away by the brilliance of Pelle, Mane and Wanyama. We even missed a pen on purpose so not to embarrass them. Leicester v SSSSS – Aside from SSSSSS we want them to win the league. This was our present to Ranieri & co. Great performance, 2 clear/debatable (delete as you see fit – but PLEASE we have argued it to death!) penalty claims. Newcastle: Newcastle v Bournemouth 1-3 –McClaren’s last ‘hurrah’!!! Leicester v Newcastle 1-0 – Leicester dominated for a convincing victory Newcastle v Sunderland – 1-1 Predictable stalemate Norwich v Newcastle 3-2 – Put them in the deep do do with a loss against their rivals. Last time out – Newcastle 2 SSSSSS 2 My prediction. If this wasn’t the positive thread, I’d go for a negative 3-1 to us. As I’m being positive, I can not see anything other than a 5-0 win. Pelle hatrick, VVD and Austin. Here is my team (with ratings already put in brackets): Forster (10) Cedric (9) Fonte (10) Van Dijk (10) Bertrand (9) Targett (9) Clasie (10) Wanyama (10) Davis (12) Pelle (15 – two great flicks) Mane (11) Subs: (Only ones we are interested in) Jay Rod, Austin 5-3-2 all the way! Referee: R. Madley (who incidentally refereed his first PL game at St Mary’s in 2013) Ass Ref 1: M Perry Ass Ref 2: J Brooks 4th Official: G Ward Who can forget this...our annual 4-0 victory And lastly, this is a happy clappy, positive thread so: ...And of course, it is the weekend so: All I can say is COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay match thread! 3-0 Saints. Austin 2, 1 for Jay and when he scores the roar will be so loud everyone in Portsmouth thinks Fratton Park has finally fallen down.
You have to remember my daughter is now a yank so I don't even notice their incorrect use of the English language
http://www.nufcblog.com/2016/04/05/can-newcastle-beat-southampton-on-saturday-2/ Newcastle blog asking if Newcastle can win....comments suggest not. It is your duty to vote for a Newcastle loss on their survey.
Their system of dating is illogical...you put day, month and year in that ascending order. I suppose if they want to put the time they slip that in at random as well....the match this weekend (using American system) is 04/15.00/09/2016.
Looking forward to this and should be a great atmosphere. Left it late getting a ticket so behind goal at northam instead of kingsland north. Struggled at home against the other bottom 3 teams, villa and Sunderland but hopeful of a win here and keep rafa waiting for his first win. Would like to see jrod play a part and let's go at that dodgy Newcastle defence.
US: I think they would have it as 1500/04/09/2016 though they wouldn't put any color or hard labor into it. They are too busy trying to fit into their pants, whilst the ladies hold their purses. those purses better fit in the trunk or they are garbage. Google Translate into English: I think they would have it as 3pm on the 9th April 2016 though they wouldn't put any colour or hard labour into it. They are too busy trying to fit into their trousers, whilst the ladies hold their handbags. those handbags better fit in the boot of the car or they are rubbish.
Well I like the really positive match thread although I am a little concerned about the gas leak Sadly missing the game (invited to Aintree and the Grand National is on the bucket list) so I expect that it will be a cracker.
To keep with the positive thread. This game will propel us towards Europe. Not just Europa League, but maybe Champions League. You gotta have a dream.....
