It was used in the context that Spurs beating Chelsea in a final wasn't a fluke because you'd beaten them in the previous one. What was conveniently left out was the 50 year gap <laugh>

So Arsenal beating Chelsea in a cup final was a fluke, then?

There is no other evidence as we had not met them in a final in the intervening years.

Irrelevant. Trying to use it as evidence that the win in 2008 wasn't a fluke because you beat them in 1967 is laughable.

The question was when had we met in a final before. The answer is 1967!

I think you'll find its your rather poor attempt to Wum that's irrelevant...

Now Spluttering <laugh> ... those dates don't 'conveniently' show anyting ... the 12 month period is real and cumulative - and a reflection of 12 months back from today ... I've not selected our best month in that 12 or anything <laugh>

Liverpool fans take heed - if you want to celebrate those 5 European Cups ffs don't conveniently cite the years in which you won <laugh>

Man United fans - don't selectively cite the years in which yiou won the top division as being some kind of record <laugh>

    PS ... I didn't construct the pic ... it's from some press article ...

    Not just them.

Everton won the league ahead of Liverpool by 13 points in 85-86. The season before that they had finished in 7th, 18 points behind Liverpool.

In 70-71 Arsenal did the double. The season before that they had finished 12th in the league.

Even if you use the Wikipedia definition of fluke then Leicester winning the league can't be considered a fluke.

Most seasons has the title winner having , generally , high 80's or 90 points .
Leicester are the only team with a realistic chance of getting to 80 .
Arsenal and Man City could win the rest of their games and not make 80 points .
The Spurs could win all their games and get exactly 80 points .
Probably the lowest total points for a title champion for a long time ....maybe the actual lowest .
    Weird season .

Before the Premier League , Everton had more top flight titles than Man U .....does that make ManU 's Premier League titles flukes ?
Two high 70's and one 75 point season in the 90's .Low winning total could fall this season .

How did you get that from my post?!

I don't think any title win can be considered a fluke. Others may disagree.

I doubt Leicester will fail to get 6 points from their remaining six games.

Same , their are no flukes , just good teams left standing .Although , that one Man City stole from you was a definite fluke .

But it wasn't. We went into the last 5 games with an 8 point lead. It was obvious where those 8 points could be dropped by United so that we'd lose it on goal difference and we dropped every single one of those points! They kept winning and fell over the line (which is how they win titles!).

The 38 game season only started in 95/6. Winning totals were 82, 75, 78, 79

So you think Leicester will finish on 74 points?
