'highly selective' ... EPL highest points covering a full 12 month range from April 2015 to April 2016... no gaps, no nuances, no selective interpretation ... not sure what was 'highly selective' in that tbh ... ,,, but the actual point being made is that this season is not a fluke for either of the top 2 ... indeed a statistician might argue that taking a sample of the last quarter of last season the top 2 now was eminently predictable ... unfortunately I'm more of a pessimist
.. because the form from that time hasn't been replicated ... the form from April has ... consistently ....which is the whole point
So, once again, selective. You've chosen the dates from which Leicester's run of form started. Take it back a few months and it looks different.
Well if he is trying to make the point that Leicester have had the best form in the last twelve months, where the **** else should he have started from?! Jesus christ.........I know you are suffering in Spain, but you may want to spend less time in the sun mate.
Oh do **** off! So, he picks dates that conveniently show Leicester have outperformed everybody over that period. And that's not selective!?
You ****ing melt, they HAVE out performed everybody over that period! His point was that they have done so over the last 12 months, so why the **** would be arbitrarily pick a date you would prefer?
Surely a 12 month period is a reasonable time frame to assess how a team has performed? If you go further back than that it probably brings former players and managers into the equation. Should I give LVG credit for United's title wins under SAF?
Dick, Unless he listed every game Leicester played since their inception, then any stat he quoted would be selective.
Yeah, we wouldn't want to take previous managers into account. Good job that Ranieri didn't join Leicester in July, for example, eh?
Well of course he is going to do that. I will say again, his point was that Leciester have been the form team of the last 12 months, so he listed the form for the last 12 months. If he had said something like, "if you dont count June or August, then we have been the best in the last 12 months", I could see your point
Selective but logical. If he goes back across the last two seasons it might show that Spurs have won more points but it won't help you win the title this season. In fact you'd have 126 points compared to Arsenal 132 points (one game less) Chelsea 132 points (one game less) Manchester City 133 points (one game less) United 123 points (one game less) So you've been a game in hand better than LVG across two seasons. Congratulations!
Don't get me wrong, I admire what Leicester have done. It goes some way to reinforce the point we were discussing on the other thread. I just tried to say to him that we didn't need his rather selective stats to know that Leicester had done well.
