Just wonder what people's thoughts of him are? When he first came he looked poor and out of his depth but since the Man Utd match in January he has been improving gradually. Think this guy is coming to the party too late to keep us up, especially after the Sunderland and Norwich games.
Looks like a young striker (target man) who is slowly finding his feet in the league. Quite normal when you arrive from abroad, even more so when you are just young. Really good young striker, he'll do well for some other PL team next season now we've prepared him. Similar applies to Mbemba, Perez and Gini.
He's done as much as he can considering we have hardly set our team out for his benefit. More crosses have been coming in lately and he's been getting more goals so maybe he can help win us a few games if we can keep them out also.
I think Rob Elliot's my player of the season, But a close second for me is Mitrovic, Incredibly fustrating at times and not always been at his fittest, but the guy has such a love for Newcastle and you can tell. Everytime he scores, every ball that goes upto him he fights for, if every player on the pitch had half of his desire we would be top 10. I think he will stay, one season in the championship, if we are going down, then I would prefer he stops scoring now and stops attracting interest. Although im not sure anyone will pay over the £13.5m we paid for him in the summer. Players will not leave the club for a fee less than what we have paid.
I`ve liked him from day one. I think he is one of the few players we have signed recently who actually gets this club and city. He looks a bit fitter now too. I hope he stays I just read Troy Deeneys analysis of why Leicester are so hard to beat on the BBC website. A good read. Its like a sacred text on how not to lose a football match, most of it is just football common sense though. Something this team of wasters lack in spades .http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35955616
Mitrovic has been let down badly by the club. That usesless lump McClaren. Never played to his strengths.
6 premier league goals all season, he's missed more sitters than a security guard at The Gate around that wooden boat sculpture thing, and a Clintons worker collects fewer cards a week... He's obviously outstanding. My prediction, he will get no offers in Summer, because he's a **** striker. He will probably score about 8 goals next year in the championship, most being pens.
Shame on you JPF. Is their any need to be so ungracious about Mitro. Be honest, he has looked a bit better recently. Besides, the new rules in the Championship next season, with the introduction of Double-Sized Goals and Blindfolded Keepers will surely help him reach double figures, hopefully, fingers crossed etc.....
I have an irrational love of our mad serb. Cannot hide it. At least he gives a genuine ****. There is hopefully more to come from him.
Average striker, in a very poor team. Sure he fights for every ball...................... but so did George Riley!!
"I'm not for changing. This **** can pick up form all he wants, hell he can score 30 in the championship, I will not flag or fail - useless"
Na, not even an average striker, lumps around too much and way off the pace, he runs around faster when he celebrates the few times he has scored.
The lack of mobility is not a particular worry as he's a target man. In comparison to Kevin Davies and especially Mark Viduka, he's Gianfranco Zola.
The guy is 2 goals off double figures for the season. Given his age and the state of our team that is pretty good going for a 21 year old in his first season!
Indeed. Mitro in a mid table side in his first season is 15+ goals. If he stays... and we drop.... I'd expect 20+ next season which will be a good haul. I can see Arma feeding well off him and getting to 15-20 himself too.
I love him. It's great to see a player who actually seems to care and the fact he is a bit mental is even better. Love a physical type up front so I hope he stays. Not to concerned with number of goals yet as he hasn't been given much to work with so far.
You can fantasise all you want Albert, but the facts are he scores on average every three hours and fifty minutes
That's down to Shteev having him play off the shoulder of the last defender as if he were Thiery Henry. Had we have give him a more suitable kind of service such as playing to his feet so he can back into defenders or crosses from wide, perhaps he'd have a handful of goals more than he has now.
I think we gotta keep him, his stock would shoot much further staying with us than going elsewhere. Unless a strong champions league club come calling which looks improbable. Out of our first team we'll sell Krul, Janmaat, Mbemba, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Siem De Jong and Cisse. All of which would greatly cushion the financial impact of relegation and give us the space to improve the squad and make sure it's fit for purpose the way the last relegation squad was.
