But it has always been the case that kids get into football cheaper. I well remember the Boothferry Park North stand turnstile labelled "School Boys one and sixpence"
Agreed, cheaper but not virtually free. Under 16s at a reduced rate would be more than acceptable... was it not usually around half the adult price. I am sure adults at Fer Ark were about 10 quid and kids a fiver..
Thx DJ. I wouldn't have any issue with under 16's paying half the cost of an adult ticket. That is more than fair, again in my opinion.
They can't really reduce too many adult prices this season as this would just aggravate the people who have paid a fortune up front for a season card. Next season with reduced adult prices they can get away with reducing some game prices if lower crowds are expected.....
I agree, like I said above 30 quid for a kids season ticket last year was amazing value but it was too good value, £1.30 a game!!..I never paid that less to get in boothferry park as a kid 25 years ago 75/80 quid a season ticket and a cost of 3.50 a game would still have been amazing value and might have stopped the scandalous price hike on adult tickets from recent season., kids shouldn't be frozen out, but neither should adults, the annual cost of living wage rise we all used to get are dead in the water to most. the scrapping of concessions completely this year is a disgrace I agree 100%...there should be some middle ground found.
It's all about the numbers, people are raving about Huddersfield for next season, as they've made 10,000 passes available for £179 each. They've scrapped OAP concessions as part of the new scheme, but nobody gives a ****, because the price for everyone is so low (though they still have kids concessions).
I have 13 kids. I can't afford to pay adult or half adult price for all of them. They all love city and they all want to see every game. They all add to the atmosphere, they will all grow up to be full paying adults and will all take their kids along. Do you think they should now be priced out? Should the whole next generation be priced out? Maybe kids shouldn't go at all, or maybe parents should be forced to pick and choose which of their kids get to go. Maybe the unlucky ones who miss out could better utilise their time vandalising things.
Do they have to move seats/split up from their usual crowd to get the lower price? Money is a factor, but it's far from the only one.
Kids shouldn't be priced out no. I think it is respectable to expect under 16s to pay half what an adult does.... I don't think "as has been said" it is acceptable for kids to take up seats for a couple of quid a game..

Unfortunately yes that is how I have become.... have seen so many get everything for nowt or next to nowt for years now. Now the boot is on the other foot and I can get something "cheaper", where it has been taken away from those who have had it too good for too long then yes, I am a 100% selfish **** as you put it.... and I am happy
