Spurs have Newcastle on the last day, they may still be playing for survival, rather than Chelsea playing for bugger all Im trying to look for positives before we drop points and go into panic mode
So far we can drop 4 points and still win the league. Spurs will not win every one of their games so we should be able to win the league on our own merit.
Leicester have the best run in. By the time you face Man Utd they will have accepted that their season is over. Chelsea's season is already over and the last thing they'll want is to help Spurs (or Arsenal) Arsenal and Man City are already out of it. PS...we'll help you on 2 April too
Aresenal have 6 games in April (3 in 8 days) which is not what you want with all things considered. Man City have some tough games v those around top/euro place. This could help us in a few ways. Spurs Have the same, almost, as Man City. Leicester have a tough May & need to make use of their remaining home games (imo)
All three sides you face in May will already be in the beach. The only one that might still have a glimmer of interest in something is Man Utd but they're **** and you guys should batter them. I reckon you will have won it before May arrives anyway.
I'm beginning to think Arsenal may be our biggest threat now. Looking at the run-ins, on paper they seem to have the easier set of games, with both them and Spurs only with the league to focus on fatigue might not be an issue. Their penultimate game at Man City could be crucial, seeing how they brushed Everton aside I thought they may have slipped up there, but they're probably more focused now. Having said all that, if we keep going the way we are I think we'll clinch the title with the Everton game. The West Ham game is going to be a big one mind.
You do realise that Arsenal are 11 points behind us? Then again, if we drop that many and Arsenal catch up to us, we don't deserve the title.
However Arsenal have a game in hand. That game is West Brom and home so should be an easy win - well we kmow how that turned out
It will only be eight if they win their game in hand, we've got tough games, just as we have, but I think they've got more straightforward games than us or Spurs. West Ham is a banana skin for them, and with Spurs playing Liverpool and Man Utd next if we do the business against Southampton and Sunderland we could be 11 points up with five to play.
Spurs have to be the team that will beat us, they are still free scoring and playing without pressure. They basically jacked in the Europa league to concentrate on the league too.
I´m getting the impression that alot of ppl will be disappointed if we don´t win the lge ? Our aim was to stay up aswell. European football is almost 99% guaranteed.
I'd say it's between you and Spurs, I'm hoping you win the next game and we give Spurs a kick in the nuts for you. You could then lose 2 and draw 1 and still win it.
You're most welcome to pop over and cheer us on..... http://www.not606.com/threads/liverpool-v-tottenham.325701/#post-9057391
The lowest points total for 4th was 67 by, of course, Arsenal in 2006, so another draw and we're fine! I wouldn't be surprised if 4th spot gets a new record low this season though, no team seems consistent enough, so maybe we are already assured top 4. Would i be disappointed if we didn't win it? ...maybe... but it still won't take anything away from what has been a monumental success this season
I'd be ****ing gutted if we don't win the league. We're 7 points clear with 6 games to go and have a reasonable fixture list. It'll be the choke to end all chokes if we don't win the league from here.
Chelsea have appointed a new manager who is rumoured to be getting rid of most of the squad - is safe to say that they won't be giving a crap in their remaining games.
