So, please can I ask Tom, when these 50:50 decisions come up when you are refereeing, what makes you go one way or the other?
Actually, your first line backs us... exactly that he doesn't have time to think, he instinctively moves his arm towards the ball ...
Whether it's Saints playing or not, if the player has a reputation for handballing/fouling, Tom's in a foul "Mr Angry" mood or that team have been saying "Oh come on ref" for the previous ten minutes. Other than that, he'll give the decision he sees.
... or he is just running ... ... his nickname is Danny 'running man' Simpson .. hence I feel he is completely vindicated
I hadn't realised that, sorry. Case closed. Move along folks. Nothing to see anymore. Now bugger off to the Spuds board and give them a load of sh1t will you. Say it was from us. There is a lovely lad over there called Hoddle is a God. Ps. I have heard the harlem globe trotters are making a bit for him this summer....
... I'm an infrequent visitor to the Spuds board as they seem to take irrational umbrage to a visiting fox
Didn't watch motd. Did we decide why we conceded? Imo Cedric was drawn out of position leaving them time to put in a good cross. Classie beaten but should have been vvd or font covering the centre of the box.
It's probably already been done to death ( I haven't read any of the thread 'cos we lost!), but at the risk of stoking up another Cedric/Martina debate, Cedric's defending for the goal was undercommitted and very poor IMO
Don't think you will mate,I suspect Martina would still have been wandering back from the half way line.
I have been advocating use of video evidence in making and reviewing tough calls such as penalty incidents. I conceed in these cases I don't think it would help. I have seen the incidents about 10 times and changed my mind 9 times.
So long as we get 50% of those 50/50 decisions, we'll have nothing to complain about. Not sure we have this season. Probably just perceptions though.
