Well, breaking news. We managed to track the phone and although we couldn't find it, the police have found our car. No news on condition yet. Our son's car was a bit special, this was the one they were after and is probably hidden somewhere. It may be trackable but if not it won't be out on the streets for sure.

Thanks, everyone for your words of support. I didn't really mean to bang on about it only to suggest that losing a football match (against the potential champions) is not the end of the world.

I'll soon get over that though..........!

If Simpson had caught it 'accidentally' would it have been ok because his body was still in the way? The fact his body is there is totally irrelevant. I know I'm exaggerating, but it shows what a naff rule it is.

Please go and win this thing now. I will forever have Leicester on my dislike list if you somehow let Spuds win it.

I actually think it's Arsenal they should be worried about now...

That's because the law isn't very convincing. With the law written as it is at the moment they are not penalties. So there aren't really grounds to have a go at Oliver. I still think the first one is not a penalty whichever way you write the law. I do think deliberate needs to go from the law. But at the same time the first one cannot be given as handball so FIFA need to improve the handball law accordingly.

That was more or less what he said, so fair enough, we would probably have missed the penalty anyhow, we will never know.

I think both Simpson and Huth instinctively move the arms to prevent the ball getting past them. Whether they've got their arms tucked or outstretched is immaterial. It's the flight of the ball that matters, and their arms move towards it. This is why the law is ridiculous as it stands because nobody can 100% categorically say that's wrong. And the 2 Leicester players obviously aren't confessing. One can point to decisions made just this season alone involving Saints players giving away penalties and free-kicks for handball under extremely similar circumstances.

I think someone has a very warped sense of humour. The referee for the Newcastle game has awarded the most penalties in the PL this season! <laugh>

Good news, Lff. I've been through that and it's a horrible feeling. You're taking it very calmly - it took me about a week to come down off the ceiling and I still want to hang the bastards up by their testicles ...............

Don't worry Tom; he won't give us one even if a Newcastle defender picks up the ball in the penalty area and runs the length of the pitch with it.

What are the odds on a handball penalty being given against us? Jose - keep your arms down!

Depends if Tom thinks it was deliberate.

So, the running at full pelt Simpson, moving his arms in exactly the same arm pumping action throughout his sprint, has time to stop - consider whether the movement of his arm in that same manner might constitute 'instinctively' moving it towards the ball - then, considering that it might - dramatically alter it's natural running movement - to ensure that it can't ...

... alternatively the ball might just have hit the arm of a bloke sprinting - and if it hadn't then it would have hit his torso ... slo mo is great ... but can be very deceptive ...

Ex-ref Graham Poll on talkSport this afternoon concluded the ref got the Simpson decision right ... he also didn't think the Huth one was a pen either ... for what it is worth ... although he did concede that they might both have been given on another day ...

I agree. The first one was definitely not a penalty, the second was 50-50.

    Exactly my thoughts.

If you then look at the one Norwich conceded the day before though.. Both were pens.

I think that's the issue that keeps coming up (remember, this is the third game when we've had decisions deemed worthy of analysis on MOTD) - it's the inconsistency.

My view is that we should man up and accept that the decisions will balance out but I do understand fans' frustrations when they deem decisions to be rather arbitrary at times.
