Who ran the prison / island game? Those tasks were good because it wasn't obvious which way was right.

one everyone revealed last game it was largely over.

Mafia for me anyway is a small team who are up against a big team and their main weapon is the unknown.

For the small team to win skill must be applied not just say nothing and pop off night actions. conversely for the big team to win it needs to make it hard to hide and be questioning everything with open mind. Ideally nobody could get away with a subtle change in quality of posts after a recruit or get away with posting have no idea summery please and ****ing off. Ideally everyone would post once or twice an hour (not possible l know) and this activity would force mafia to do same.

catching out the lie is the fun of the game, not just topping guy at night and boasting about it after. as most of the time you don't have that power and getting killed gets boring.

Astro caught you last game. I bet he loved it... I bet you went ARRRGHHH! more than you would if you got topped by a night action.

thats the fun.

Its pretty boring going day one getting topped immediately and then ending up with a week of spamming and annoying everyone on dead board.

The clues linked to earlier clues so astro solved them all.

East was mentioned several times and nobody went east. each day the mafia got it immediately, knew what the bad option was and lead town by nose.

Town even said several times. these don't matter...

 

I thought tasks were designed to get people talking? Private voting means mafia can still hide

 

And yeah, plan is to have 3 random choices but try apply a small amount of logic to each one each night so you can discuss it and it's not just a 33% chance if you can work out the clues etc.

However, I can't promise how good/bad , easy/hard he logic will be

You can discuss the clues and which way to go, Mafia will be trying to influence if someone is paying no attention to clues and discussing they'd flag up suspicious to me? VT's are only ones to vote but it's in benefit to whole town as to getting the correct location and Mafia will know the bad and will get rewarded if they convince the majority to go there.

We all have our own styles. Being quiet works for some, others can't be quiet because of reputation. I just think voting being private will make it near on impossible for town but for good fortune.

 

it does so the town have to realize that self preservation RHC style does absolutely nothing to help town. If town vanilla's don't talk up then the town roles are inhibited and then everyone will sit about looking at each other.

 

I wouldn't put clues in, I'd make it more random just because people will discuss it until they are blue in the face because everything MUST be logical

 

I'd missed the mafia knowing which way is right and therefore being able to influence it

can't get caught out by vanilla telling me i have no clue what the direction is. if i was town role that would be disaster. mafia will know which way is best for mafia so town roles need to be clued in and pretend they voted.

Thats what i did with shards. if questioned all i could say was no i didn't get one here is how i voted.

If whole town benefits form right answers not just vanillas then its worth it.

I seriously don't think he should be allowed to play. that or give him a individual task that means he must post at least ten (constructive and game related) comments per day.

I got accused of hindsight bias last game even though i gave reasons on each thing

you have a less is better bias where you seem to hate info while others get lost in the minutae. Understanding your opponent is vital.

If you were up against AFC or tennis or me then feed as much information at us as possible to have us lost in analysing it.

If you are up against tobes its the opposite. He will go the opposite

then theres the negativity bias. nobody will know who is who bar of course RHC is vanilla town. but people, when evaluating the causes of the behaviors of a person they dislike, will attribute positive town behaviors to the they have to do it and their negative behaviors to the person being mafia for sure

 

Question then...

One of the three routes is best for town and the others not. Will the other two routes mean anything?

For example, would it benefit the mafia if they manage to lead them towards the very obviously wrong option?

 

no he doesn't need to as no mafia team now kill him and so far no town have said in the absence of any real info lets just lnych him as he's bound to be vanilla.

thats the point if we all had to post a minimum number like i wanted to last year people would moan about it and not join.

you don't post very much and when you do you say whats going on half the time so the mafia can use that low bar (along with 2/3 others who post less) to set thier bar for activity and not look suspect.

so stop steaming. I've always supported you playing and given you roles too.

 

So it just adds to the town numbers. When innocent, that is his whole existence in these games.

However, if he gets a role, whether it be town or scum, it really ****s it up. I've been fortunate enough not to be on his side (if fortunate is the right word since he keeps landing on the winning team) but ask Biscan how he felt when he got put on a three man team with RHC and Valley
