I can see what you're saying. Personally, I reckon bringing the issues to light in a public domain in a way that the club cannot deny they were aware of issues, actually strengthens the point you're making as there would be open questions and an open response for the club to be measured against.
As an aside, did anyone watch the canal programme with Prunella Scales and Timothy West? A sad, but very warm and enjoyable homage to life. What a beautiful woman she is, in every way. He is who he is; she loves him.
I've seen a few of them. Nice gentle tv. To say they've been doing it for years, they're rubbish at driving them barges though aren't they? The owners must cringe.
Yes, but it's been done to death. We all talk and the silence from the club is deafening. I see apologists being aggressive, I see them trying to be constructive and I see them trying to keep us on board. The day is done, the night belongs to the club, no one else. I believe they have lost the soul of their manager, they disregard the supporter, they insult any memory or thought of loyalty. This is a simple, yet complex issue; it is the changing face of our club. There is so much dishonesty of spirit that these boards have become hollow. MOD EDIT_ I've edited the boxes above for clarity, because for some reason it had your words attributed to me. - DMD

Or have they?[/QUOTE] I think what will happen, will happen either way. You're right about it being a simple, complex issue. As I see it, the club isn't the dictatorial regime some seem to think, at least not altogether. Individual staff are given a fair degree of autonomy, the problems seem to arise when one area of the club needs to work with another. Managers seem willing to help, but can make promises they can't deliver and seem to be misguided in where they get their advice on fans wants and views. Perhaps by accident, perhaps by design. In my view, it must be a frustrating place to work, but sometimes they seem to do the wrong thing, albeit for what they think are the right reasons. I think it actually needs a clearer hand at the top for working practices and strategy rather than what seems to be a silo mentality with staff only really active in their own bit, with no real over all structure or corporate strategy. A start would be to decide what sort of club we are or want to be. For example, do we want to be a community club, a family club, both or something else. That would help when looking at pricing policy. Just my view mind.
I'm just about to turn 70, been supporting Hull City since 1954. I now go to games with my 41yr old son and we also have a season pass for his young son. I think thay qualifies us as long term loyal fans. However we are now considering not bothering after this season its just getting hard work to be a supporter now. The new membership scheme will put me seriously out of pocket, the organisation at the ground is piss poor, the match day experience is dreadful. The owners have destroyed all the enjoyment associated with supporting a team. On Saturday we had a must win game to stay near the top of the Championship and only 16,500 people turned up, it looks like I am not the only one fed up with the situation and it will be even less next season.
Your situation is an almost cardboard cut out of my own and your views mirror those of an increasing number of very long term supporters.
I'm surprised it will put you seriously out of pocket if you're both adults, as you'll both be paying a lot less next season?
The combined price they're paying will still be lower I believe. I was just curious about how he was seemingly so much more out of pocket next season. It's like others OLM has pointed it out to who believed they would be significantly more out of pocket for one kid and one adult when in fact it would cost less than just an adult season pass this season. Again no offence meant I was just genuinely confused.
Based on the original details released, an OAP, an adult and a child would be paying more than they are now, as though the adult would be paying less, the OAP and the child would be paying more. We'll have to wait and see how the revised details change things, the suggestion is that no family will pay more than they did this season, but I've no idea what they define as a 'family'.
I believe a combination of enforced seat moves and loss of concessions will knock a minimum of 4,000 off next seasons expected crowds. So that would mean 12000 in the Championship and about 18000 instead of a 22000 average in PL. I also think withdrawal of pensioners concessions will hit them the most as it will be viewed as act of betrayal and could lead the club back into national headlines for the wrong reasons. I spoke to a half a dozen pensioners last weekend and none were going to come next season if they had to pay 50% more.
What I find annoying is that folk seem to think that as supporters attend as a group - family or not - that they buy their tickets in the same way, so losses and gains balance. Does a granddad not buy his own and the son pay for his and the child's - or is that not how it should be viewed? Much of the reckoning seems quite contrived and unrealistic.
