The Beatles, weren't they a popular beat combo?

I read the book last year which I really enjoyed. Haven't started watching the series yet but it's getting good reviews.

I started watching the new Supergirl series last night and loved the first two episodes.

We were complying with all laws and the reason given for pulling us over is the 2 of the group were driving shirtless...which of course isn't a crime. Some of us didnt have international licenses but that was irrelevant as all of us were made to pay the 'fine' regardless, which disappeared quite literally into the sergeants pocket. Im glad there is a commission but from everything ive heard from locals its pretty systemic i fear.

One stroll along the main stretch in kuta in the evening and we were offered everything from Cocaine and Ice to Valium, Viagra and Cialis continuously...Locals just had it in their hands and held it out for us as we walked past..shopkeepers in random stalls would sometimes pull out boxes from back corners filled with various meds as we were browsing their shirts. There were other oddities like the anarchic approach to traffic, the stray dogs/cats or how some of the locals are so desperate to look paler that they will wear long pants, gloves and hoodies in 38C heat....which gave me a bit of culture shock at first.

That said aftersome adjustment you get to see the fun, relaxed side of it at all and i had a great holiday and would go again. The cop incident was just unsettling due to just how obvious and blase they were about it.

Been stupidly looking through the streaming site I use and couldn't find anything. Then it clicked - time difference. 20.00 tonight. <doh>

Damn it ! I missed it. I mean I really missed it. I was fully intending to watch it but got sidetracked doing something for someone else, that I could have put off until later, and completely forgot about the race. I even looked at the clock at one point and it said 20.05 and I still didn't twig. That's it. Next time I'm setting an alarm. There'll be no point in watching the highlights.

Interesting video has been unearthed by the BBC about defected ex-British spy Kim Philby:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35943428

In it he lectures to Stasi officers on how he maintained his life in MI6 and served the USSR. Very interesting. Makes our little chat about those with something to hide in MI6 in The Night Manager all the more relevant.

I saw that on the headlines last night but fell asleep (early start today). I will check this out later as just got on a plane. Does it include a video?

    Fascinating stuff.

I have Peter Wright's "Spy Catcher" and that is an incredible book. I've not read it for 25 years so I may give it another go.

Apologies if already posted, but this is from the excellent Stephen King book of the same title. One of his best ones (in my opinion) - his later ones haven't been that good, but this was awesome. Hope they make a good TV series of it - will look out for it! Cheers TSS!!

I fell for the hype when it first came out and rushed out to by "Spy Catcher" - read it and was totally underwhelmed ........ put it on the shelf and never picked it up again. Is it worth giving it another go?

As mentioned, an 8 episode series. I've just finished Ep6 and I'm trying not to watch it now. Yes, it is rather good.

I'm so pissed off with myself for missing that. I was going to try to follow this season properly again.
