To be truthful the only disappointing thing for me was the amount of goals conceded. I never thought we was going to get anything from the Hull game. Rotherham I'm not too concerned with as I think Bolton (relegated by Saturday) , Charlton and MKD will occupy the the bottom three places. Considering where we was prior LJ I will be happy with 20th place. We know the summer transfers was a bollocks up and looking at loan Ashton's dealings since he's arrived I think at least we have someone to take us forward next season. What I'm confused about is the negativity towards the board when wasn't it Mike wrote a big thread about all sailing the good ship Bristol City last May and everything was roses coming out of AG? It was discussed in an interview this week that the summer dealings was down to people not singing from the same hymn sheet and perusing players unlikely to come here and not concentrating on players who would come here. I know what to expect come middle to end of May when no one has signed yet, it will be like a nuclear bomb gas gone off and the club will disappear up its Arse. 1001 threads regarding stats and doom to be read
Evening 1For. To be honest my comment last night was a wind up, one of GJ's hand grenades. However, I don't like Junior saying players in the side aren't good enough. He can think it but wrong to air it on Twentyman and anyway, who's to say he's any better a coach than they are players. I certainly don't believe Ashton saying Junior was wanted by a Premiership club, it's beyond credibility. I hope we still have at least a 6 point cushion after our next 2 home games. Warnock is due some luck at AG, remember the 'goal' ?
I remember the goal, was sat right behind it. Everyone stopped expecting the ref to blow up and after what seemed like an eternity (about 3-4 seconds in reality), we played on, much to Freddie Sear's (think it was him) disgust..... Totally surreal.....
I was in the Williams stand that day - when it happened, I think because it was a powerful shot that somehow sprung out of the back of the goal so quickly, it seemed like it had hit the post, though the lack of noise and the Palace players celebrating left me in no doubt what had happened. I seem to recall that Paul Hartley had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside that day also, so for what it was worth, it kind of balanced out.
It was certainly a goal but I don't think we need to feel sorry for Dame Nellie and let's hope we send him home with a bee in his bonnet this time.

Back then, there was a bar on the ground behind the goal holding the net in place and because it was a powerful shot, it hit this and bounced out so quick that the officials didn't spot it. Yes, Hartley did have a goal ruled out incorrectly but of course, the press didn't take any notice of that...
I saw it go in. I think the ref was the only person in the ground that didn't. The cheer from the Atyeo when play continued was almost as loud as if we scored ourselves. Palaces bench, understandably weren't happy. If I remember rightly, we scored the winner in the 89th minute too.
