Real shame about Jenson. Makes it impossible to accurately gauge Vandoorne. He's looking good at the moment but didn't close on Button despite having the supersofts prior to the DNF.
Apart from leave space. It's the first corner, you can't just close the door like that because you're in front. Some nice overtakes from Kimi there after Ferrari inexplicably dump him into a load of traffic.
Kimi runs hot and cold. Well today he is running hot. So much activity in Massas cockpit when he is overtaking or is overtaken. Checking his mirrors like he is having his driving test haha.
Great chance with so many cars having issues. "Will the Honda engine play it's party trick again?" is probably the question.
I would say it would have been optimistic in the extreme for Bottas to think he would have room for that overtake. If you are behind and you are relying on the car ahead to see your lunge and leave you room then you are taking a risk.
I meant Bottas was not 100% to blame. Hamilton didn't give him any space, at a guess he was watching Rosberg and not his mirrors. Just meant seems more like a racing indecent than a drive thru for Bottas.
I think he got the penalty because it was a lunge. Had Hamilton given him room there was still a possibility they'd still come together on exit. I think it was probably better just left alone though.
Now I don't want to have a pop at the kid as I like him and his potential, but I can't help but think that if Alonso and Button were racing in Vandoornes position, commentators would be slating the McHonda and saying that even with the retirements they still can't get in the points. As it is, you've got crofty and Kravitz praising Vandoorne running in 11th and then Kravitz, being the giant tool that he is, commenting on Vandoorne 'hitting his marks' coming into the pitlane. What a ****ing idiot.
