Looked decent when he came on yesterday. Seems to have grown and bulked out a bit since he was here.
Gave Curtis Davies plenty to think about when the ball was off the ground, held it up and laid it off well - something we don't have in the building at the moment.
Can't help thinking that he could have done a decent job for us this season, with the lightweight and sulky Arsenal loanee being so inconsistent/injury prone. Not as a main striker, but someone to protect the smaller and lighter forwards we have.

On the one hand we could have done with a target man at times this season.

On the other hand, not Wilbraham.

A 36 year old striker with 7 goals in 39 appearances this season?

We could do with a striker of his type, but preferably one who's actually a half decent footballer.

    Thanks Wiki boy.
Maybe if he'd been playing in a half decent team who put the crosses in that we do, he'd have at least doubled his total for the season?
He's had a 19 year career and played in the PL for 2 different clubs- I wonder if Chuba Akpom or Anne Diomande will manage that?

He was crap when he was here 1st time - please let's not bring him back. If Peter Taylor had signed Deano that season instead of Wilbraham we'd have walked to the League 1 title. We'd have been better off with Clayton Donaldson this season than AW

Yeah he wasn't up to much in his spell with us and we did right to get rid.
Jonathan Walters wasn't great either, or Delaney.

Delaney was always dependable - especially when he was playing centre half and not left back. For some reason Taylor never seemed to fancy Walters much, though I understand he (Walters) had family problems at the time.

Delaney always had an error in him and seemed uncomfortable on the ball at Championship level. But he improved with age and has done very well for himself. He lacked confidence with us at times.
To think he was reduced to tears by our crowd's ' right to vent their frustration' about his play is disappointing.
Trying to remember what game it was...

Indeed. Delaney joined near his 21st and improved hugely at City, especially after settling down in his best position. Walters was a kid and had a huge issue off the field to deal with - but he looked good despite struggling to score goals.

Wilbraham was 24/25 and joined a good team, and wasn't very good.

Walters had phenomenal energy and a fantastic attitude, he never let his head drop despite his off field problems and lack of goals.
He was unlucky in front of goal, always cleared off the line or hitting the post etc. Another one who developed after leaving us (not a dig, just that some players mature later than others).

He's spent almost all of his career in League One, which is handy, as he's every bit a League One player. His appearances in the Premier League were nothing short of embarrassing, he was completely out his depth.

The fact that he keeps getting new clubs/contracts from different managers/clubs suggest he has something to offer, even if you, as a distant and far from expert observer, are unable to see it.
Crazy as it may seem, I take that as a far better assessment of his merits than some pithy forum-filling put-down of him as a player.

It would help if people actually read the original post and what it said, rather than reacting to what they thought it said.

Wilbrahim is garbage. One of the reasons the Wurzels are where they are. Not good emough for this league.
