Do you honestly imagine that this present squad will be there for more than one more season ??? Just look what is coming down the road - hamstrung finances because of the new stadium, patchy 'home' performances played away from home, a very thin squad becoming even thinner because of rotation/injuries in CL plus more regular international call-ups................ you delude yourself if you can't see how all that will affect your performances in the very near future.
All of that will happen if Levy doesn't heed the mistakes he made when we were last in the CL. He didn't strengthen the squad, and we suffered. If that happens again, he has only himself to blame, and he will lose Poch. Levy is not stupid, so expect to see us strengthen quite considerably. It makes me laugh that you Mancs think only your club can strengthen, like it's some kind of secret that only you know! Comedy gold, mate! Thanks for that.
No, you're right, you certainly will be buying more players, that is for sure - you will have to in order to replace the likes of Kane and Alli who will move to bigger clubs. But who will you replace them with - some superstar ? No, as usual you will dip into the mid-table market, you will magic up some hot-shot kid from some obscure French side or the next Ardiles from Peru and slide back into the north London mud. Your new super-stadium will be awash with Cheshunt cabbies and Enfield double-glazing salesmen moaning about the prices of the food, moaning about the parking, moaning about ticket prices while you drift back to the usual old 10th spot.
None of stars will be leaving, and certainly not to any club that finishes below us, including United. We will add another striker (probably Berahino), a midfielder and a couple of defenders. With CL footy, we'll be able snare good quality players.
There's going to have to be some major re-adjusting in the way that you United supporters view your place in the Prem from now on. The red Mousers still entertain delusions of grandeur, but there is no denying that their decade spent in mid-table obscurity (excepting the season that they had Suarez at his best) has forced them to accept that their horizons now stop at clinging on to a Europa spot, rather than winning the league. It is going to be hard on you Mancs accepting the same, but it will happen. Trust me.
I believe in a higher power, Foddy, but he doesn't have a white beard, nor does he particularly give a toss about us. I have no idea what a "chugger" is. Is that Northern talk for "great bloke?"
I admire your persistence in the face of underwhelming odds, the trouble is, I suspect that the only person you convince of your argument is yourself, certainly on this board.
