We have a home game in hand on Burnley, so their lead may only be 4.
Not uncatchable, as they have Borough at home and points will be dropped there.

One game at a time. Amazing what one win does let alone 4 goals eh?

He's got hardly any pace, average touch, average dribbler, average crosser, scores a few goals but he's been **** recently.

Odd what pressure and the sight of the finish line can do to some teams too.

I think you are totally in the minority with your opinion. The whole team hasn't been great of late. But previously Clucas has been one of a very few bright lights.

I don't actually agree with any of your points above.

Maybe. Only certainly is the fact that the best two teams over a season usually go up auto and the form team usually win the play offs.

I quite fancy travelling up from London on Tuesday night. Presumably with the ticket office shambles, there's no way of me actually buying a ticket for collection at Derby any more. Or is there? And what are the chances of pay on the gate?

The facility to have tickets for collection, or pay on the gate, are Derby's, not ours. I've no idea if Derby do pay on the gate, but if they do it will be announced tomorrow.

A win against Derby would be brilliant for the team's confidence as well as the points, and confidence could prove to be the deciding factor now.
    • Unfortunately Boro have a couple of wins after a terrible run and that should set them up well for a late assault on the title.
    • Brighton just seem to lack a bit of self-belief which will probably keep them out of the top two.
    • Burnley have been solid and deserve to be favourites, but they've had a long run of good results and it would be interesting to see how they would react to a dip in form at this stage.
If we can somehow get back into contention the question will be how our players deal with it. Hopefully they've at last learned that winning in this league is about fighting harder than the opposition and not about having a better CV.

Cheers. But you used to be able to ring our ticket office the day before a game and get tickets sent down with team bus or whatever. Now the ability to buy for away games closes two or three days before (ie Friday lunchtime for this game). Anyway, I should have got my act together earlier!

A win here cements the top four finishing in at least the play offs with a gap forming between us and the chasing pack of 5th-8th.

I think based on our last four games (before yesterday), I'm not sure how he didn't get subbed off as he hadn't played that well.

I don't think he's a bad player at all but he needs to pass backwards/sideways less and he's really reluctant to run down the wing, instead just standing there marked pretty much in Robertson's way.

I wouldn't go as far as calling him Clueless though.

Nah, he's bog standard. A downgrade from Quinn.

Really looking forward to Tuesday game but will be having to kerb my reactions as I'm going with a Derby fan and sitting amongst the rams supporters.

Agree - Quinnie was a good player who effectively told Brucie to **** off because he kept getting dicked about by him

It is a problem if you're out of town and decide to go just before a game, don't you know anyone who can sort one for you and meet you there, you can still buy in person until 5.00pm Tuesday?

Though they may announce Pay On The Day tomorrow anyway.

Clucas has been below par during our recent poor run but overall he has done well in his first season with us. He is always likely to take the flack by being an unfashionable name but he's certainly not a weak link. I see someone has compared Clucas with Quinn, but has Quinn been ripping up trees at Reading? With Clucas being a younger player we can look to get more from him than we maybe could with Quinn.

Perhaps we should make this post a sticky and it'll save you repeating it another 50 times.

Disagree - we got rid of Quinn at the right time. He was an average midfielder that we replaced with a younger player who scores more often
