Interesting that Ronaldo paid us some credit. On ending Barca's 39 game unbeaten run he said. "La Liga is nothing. Arsenal went 49 games unbeaten in a much harder league"
Weirdly enough I remember arsenal being 1 nil up when they went down to 10 men rather than spurs being 2-1 up when it happened. I also seem to remember arsenal being top of the league and 7 points ahead of spurs before they pissed that up against the wall in just 4 matches. I also seem to remember arsenal bottling a match against west ham and losing 2 nil and dropping points against liverpool at anfield and being humiliated 5-1 in Europe. Imo if Leicester lose today you are in the title race if you win your game in hand but unless you win the league this has been an awful season for Arsenal. If spurs get top 4 it has been a good season. No amount of bottle job accusations will change that. If we fail to get top 4 then all bottle job accusations are justified just as they will be to the goons if they fail to win the prem.
I am mad as the next guy if we don't win the league, which I think we won't, but assuming we get 3rd or 2nd, I'd hardly classify that as an 'awful' season. Frustrating, underachieved, yes, but 'awful', no.
True enough...awful would be like Chelsea' s season. We were not expecting top 4 so this is a bonus ... will be gutted if we blow it now...and being a doom monger I can see us coming 5th again !
Chavbus' pathetic title defence will go down in history as one of the worst ever, complete with all the shenanigans from Maureen such as publicly berating the clubs doctor, meltdown's and so on. Keep it coming chavbus.
I've got you guys (grudgingly) pegged for 2nd atm with Leicester holding on to win the title. We should just about hold on for 3rd I hope. I said last month that I'd take 3rd if offered then. Our squad, although ahead of it's development schedule, is still a bit thin in a few areas that should be addressed in the summer, and hopefully we can maintain a push for top 4 next season. Will the so called 'big boys' be back next season as everyone seems to think? I doubt it, after the record 1 billion plus spent last summer proves that throwing cash at the transfer market doesn't work anymore.
Mane rounds the keeper and then his shot gets blocked by Simpson on the line. Moments later, Leicester take the lead. They're getting all the breaks at the moment and everything seems to be going swimmingly for them. I just can't see them screwing up enough to the extent where they'd let us back in it. They're doing enough to get over the line each week.
I was sure Leicester were going to drop points today. If they do win this game chances are they are going to take this league.
I doubt you believe this analysis. It would be almost criminal if you guys do not win the league this season. You guys and Leicester are rank outsiders, nothing to lose. Top4 finish for your team would be scant consolation imho. We blew any chances of winning the league with our kamikaze form from the loss to Southampton...Top4 finish ultimately for us will be failed season, and deep down will be the same for most Spurs fans at this late stage. Particularly if Leicester win the league.
You were equal top 3 or 4 matches AFTER the Southampton match on boxing day. You were 2 points above Leicester in mid January. You lot have only had city Chelsea and United win the league instead of you in the last 20 years...This year all three go to **** and you lot still don't win the league and you talk about our lost opportunity? We expected nothing at the beginning of the season so see this as a bonus...Our players manager and fans see progress that may be built on...yours do not. That's why this will be a good season if we get top 4 and why it will be a bad one for you
Credit to Leicester, they unlike us, show bottle. Amazing really, with all our world class facilities, the money we pay our players, and they're 11 points behind Leicester, who are playing way beyond their resources. Some of our players are just overpaid and too relaxed at this club, they're not fighters, like many of these Leicester players, and that's why they, and not us, will be champs. We'll be celebrating our usual top 4 finish, until we start putting pressure on the team and manager to do more, it can't really change, you get the best out of people when there is big pressure, but this club makes it clear that getting top 4 is good enough, and we will reward you with big fat contracts.
What a load of horse ****, every single Arsenal fan sees so much to build on with what we have, we know we are so close, and that's why it's so frustrating. So please do quit talking out of your backside.
So why have you been calling your team ****...say certain players ain't good enough...demanding your manager be sacked etc? Most arsenal fans are not optimistic that their team can improve without major changes...that is not the case with spurs. 11 points behind Leicester does not suggest you are close considering you were 2 points above them 12 weeks or so ago. If at the beginning of the season the positions of Chelsea United city and Liverpool were known EVER ONE would have assumed Arsenal would be champions. ..that shows your lack of progress.
