I don't think the why is the issue, more the ridiculous procedure apparently in place.

There can be any number of reasons, a couple of personal examples are someone being given a surplus concession ticket at the last minute and wanting to upgrade, or one away match, one in the group had lost their ticket. Luckily we buy in bulk, so could identify the ticket number, so a quick visit and conversation with the ticket office people and we were sorted.

Why would a business with an enormous wage bill on players think that saving peanuts on ticket office staff is a good idea?

So, criticising the system is bullshit? Or is it bullshit because you know more about what happened and the numbers involved from your foreign location?

Should have pay on the day turnstiles.
    Simple as that.

    Also

    Watched highlights on C5

You notice all the empty seats more on the tv then when stood in N4

The Allams have done a great job in keeping people away.

Hey come on be fair...we now have ballboys doubling up as official flag wavers just like the big clubs who lack atmosphere do.
I think the days of canned noise and recording of noisy crowds being played over the PA are nearer than we think.

Assuming that there weren't dozens of people who got a last minute concession ticket they wanted to upgrade, I'm still intrigued as to why so many people needed to use a phone to speak to the ticket office fifteen minutes before kick off.

I'm assuming most weren't trying to buy a match ticket, as you do that in the club shop and not by phoning the ticket office from next door.

Unless I'm missing something, it seems very odd.

It is odd. Happy to retract but I smell bullshit from Charon.

Yes Castro the ticketing system is ****, happy now. But that's well known now. So why leave it to 15 minutes to go? Strange don't you think. Was asking for numbers. If its hundreds then it's chaos. I doubt it was hundreds don't you?
Could be twenty blokes trying to scam kids tickets I suppose...

There are usually people in and out of the ticket office pre-match right up to kick off, that's the wrong point of focus.

The question is, did people have to ring up rather than act face to face.

Pay on the day? Turnstiles? Old fashioned way and not as good at attracting crowds as our modern, dynamic system.

You quoted 20. Which could still be chaotic in a small room with no one dealing with anyone face to face.

If it was organised, I think that would give the opinion the club know what they are doing. I'm not sure how long the ticket office has been closed as I do order away tickets online but I didn't get chance for Derby so popped in yesterday. I queued for the phone, then gave up and tried the online machines then found out that was for home only, went into shop and away tickets were on sale there.

Just having a bit of fun. Disorganised chaos is an example of what they call tautology. One or the other would have done. And described the situation. It is shambolic.

The system is not organised, that is indisputable.

i heard one guy trying to get a refund - apparently they were told to use the shop but the shop said nothing to do with them - someone was trying to do something with a child ticket - it was full of people moaning at having to use one telephone and moaning about the lack of someone to help them - it was a shambles and no way to treat your customers

My question remains unanswered, I still don't know why so many people needed to phone the ticket office fifteen minutes before kick off.
