If we dismissed all young managers on the back of a shakey start, where would we be? It's the guys passion and ability to inspire that I would look towards. He is a proven winner as a player. Writing him off because a very difficult situation abroad never worked out is madness. The fact that he was willing to give it a go at Valencia speaks volumes to me. Realistically who are we going to attract in the Championship? Pulis, ****ing Perma-tan Phil Brown!! I cant see Neville soiling his shoes with us anyway, so its a moot point really. Pearson is a more likely candidate.
Having ****ed away all of Ashley's savings I suspect Carr's role will be either greatly diminished if not terminated at the end of the season. You just can't second guess Ashley though. He genuinely doesn't seem remotely interested in the club at all.
Maybe Ashley will go when it happens. In which case, a season in the championship would be well worth it.
I can see what your saying about young managers but he should of maybe started in the lower leagues.. To go to a top flight club abroad was stupid imo....Thinks he is better than what he is not what we need. Championship management is a massive gamble get the wrong man in and its 6 years in the wilderness we have all been here before well at least some of a certain age.Im 45 see some utter kenk with some very very poor managers, our best chance will be to come back straight away or forget it for a while. Our next appointment is massive and has to be right. Would love Rafa to stay but i cant see it.
Not long though we aint beating Southampton away we couldn't even do that in the 90s and i fancy Norwich will beat Palace. We are down mate its absolutely nailed on now im sorry to say
Think we are going though, always believed we would get out of it but always felt we had to get at least a point yesterday. Didn't see the game but sounded like Janmaat had another shocker.
Impossible to predict what will happen. Ashley may just cut his losses and sell whatever the price - it's clear he's not bothered, i actually think the sudden spending of money wasn't an indication of his interest, but was actually more an indication of his lack of interest - he even said as much. He more or less gave up, opened the bank to Carr/Charnley and said "help yourself, I couldn't give a stuff". I'd say I'm 50% certain he'll sell up. Outside of that, I guess I'm 30% certain he'll still be relatively uncaring and just leave it to Charnley. The lowest possibility of 20% is that he somehow cares enough to change things and gets rid of Carr/Charnley - he'd then have to do all kinds of work to get people in, restructure yet again, yada yada. I can't see it. Ultimately I'm struggling to be bothered too much. If Rafa stayed, that's good. If someone interesting, like Ginola, came in then again I'd be relatively interested. Most likely scenarios, however, just leave me supporting the club because that's what I do and will always do. It would be nice to be rid of so many mercenaries and hope that we bring in some decision makers who don't allow it to happen again.
I dont care who comes in, but please, please, whoever it is. Can we please start buying ****ing decent defenders for once. Our defense has been a ****ing joke for years now. Can we please just start again, from the back and then build the team from there??? I`m ****ing Sick of shipping 3-4 goals every 3rd or 4th game, every season. It has to ****ing STOP FFS..!!
I thought the first thing Benitez would do is drop Sissoko, he's one of the worst suited players to this league and he has no excuse for it. You've got one passionate player on your books, Mitrovic and he has come out and blasted his fellow players, good on him.
Mitro is radged enough to stay so hopefully him and Arma up front will work well for us. As Tel said he's the one lad who talks the talk and walks the walk by giving 100%. Imagine him and Kestbaia in the same ****ing team..... carnage.
Heaven help us if we go into a Championship campaign with the expectation firmly on Mitrovic and Armstrong to get the goals.
It's like no one was around last time we got relegated and forgets the god awful squad we went down with, who left and what we were left with. The key was in someone forming a strong unit (Hughton). Ameobi, Carroll and Lovenkrands were our main strikers that season and we ended up bossing the league.
If we kept Mitro, Perez, De Jong and Arma I'd cry tears of joy. We'd surely have some money and a different approach to buy that bit of steel that's needed? And if Rafa goes, can we get Dyche in?
I remember very well, and I was glad when Duff/Owen/Viduka/Beye/Geremi etc left. Only one that hurt was basically Bassong but he wanted out from the moment he arrived, mainly because he was on 5k a weeki, and look how he ended up, can't get a game for Norwich anymore. Let's not forget that Nolan, Guthrie and Barton and to some extent Alan Smith bossed the league. The real joke is our central defence, it's the same we went down with. Taylor and Coloccini. WTF. Hell, at least Willo tried. He was slow and clumsy but at least he ****ing put his head on ****. Taylor just ducks and runs towards his goalkeeper. Shambolic.
