No - but they've all managed at a higher level and in the case of Sherwood and Monk have handled some big dressing room ego's. One of Parkinson's problems was that he never earned the respect of players like Barmby and Ashbee.

Brucey for me was doing what he always does, keeping his options open. No decision has to be made until the season end so absolutely no reason to suggest otherwise, which is exactly what he's done.

Come the end of the season, IF we are promoted then he will use 'his options' as a negotiating tool to get a wedge to spend on players as the Allams wouldn't want to see him go, post a promotion. If he fails then I feel the potential clamour to say goodbye and thanks will encourage him to make the right decision and move onto pastures new. Personally his brand of football for me is as boring as hell for the most, so irrespective of promotion or not I would be happy to see the back of Mrs Doubtfire come the Summer! Thanks Brucey, I enjoyed the first 18 months, you achieved a great deal in many ways, unfortunately the last 18 months for me we've gone backwards, and wasted a lot of money in the process

Last few weeks something has happened behind the scenes, his body language at interviews has changed as if he is hiding something. If he does go then he can remembered as a top manager for us which is the right thing, if he stays then I think some rot has set in already over the last couple of years and it will only get worse.

I agree with this. I'd like to see things freshened up, I like Bruce, but things seem to have gone stale a bit. I'd like to see someone come in with fresh ideas and a more attack minded approach.

Agree I think Bruce has been one of if not the best manager we have ever had. He's an honest guy and respects certain qualities which is what I suspect is behind the decision to start Aluko the last two games. Fresh ideas are what is needed as footballs moved on and I'm not sure if Bruce, his methods and tactics have as well.

In his interview he spoke for the supporters an how important they are regarding the price changes. Would he have done this a year ago? He'd have said how good Allam was and how he put his own money in etc

He's keeping Sone 'sweet' given his family are based in Brum, that way he'll be encouraged to join Brucey at Villa :emoticon-0100-smile

Haha! Shot down for an opinion!! Firstly I have massive respect for Mr Bruce he's given us some amazing memories. Unfortunately things change in football, look at Arsenal, half the fans want Arsene out and half want Arsene to stay, you think those opinions changed because they beat Watford 4-0. No! I like Bruce as stated but unfortunately is he getting the most out of the team? Has he been for the last 2 years? 4th in the championship suggests to some he's not. That's just my opinion.

You need to remember that Chazz dictates everything on here, if he doesn't like what you write or how you support HIS team then he abuses you - which, to be fair, is a tad better than Happy Tiger using lies to falsely accuse someone of telling lies, repeatedly making public demands for an apology, but not apologising himself when outed as a totally baseless and dishonest poster. It's the way it is.

I guess TWT, I would expect if we fail to get promoted he will go, but if we get promoted then he may well stay. Frankly I would be surprised if he went to Villa, he has a deep infinity with the blue side of Birmingham and what happen to Mcleish and his experience at Sunderland I somehow doubt it.

Having heard the interview with Bruce I have to say that in my opinion should we go up he will still be here, providing he receives financial support to once again strengthen, but given the chaos surrounding the owners `selling`, it may well be that if he doesn`t get those assurances then he will walk. The Allams will be looking to offload without a doubt and in the Premier League they will be able to demand a better price, Bruce has experience of new owners moving in and the fallouts manager wise from it, he aint no daft lad, and is probably sick to his high teeth of being stuck in the middle of the Allams and fans. As for yesterdays game, the difference is we got an early goal, how many times have we played well, created chances, fluffed our lines then been hit with a sucker punch. Although I`m sure many on here will disagree, but I for one hope Bruce stays next season, he is without doubt the most successful manager we`ve had, and his reputation alone has been responsible for bringing in names we could have only dreamed of prior to him coming. The amount of times his half time talk has inspired the team to improve has been noticeable this season, and despite everyone scratching their heads again yesterday about the selection, the simple thing is he got it right, the 4-0 win justified it, had we taken our chances in previous games, then the same could have been said. Another sticking point for him being here is potentially the frustration of not getting Gray, when the purse strings were tugged closed, I suspect that decision still irks him.
